Highly recommend! Staff are extremely knowledgeable. They took great care of all of the items, wrote great descriptions and took excellent pictures. I had multiple questions and they took the time to answer. Customer service was outstanding! Great company to buy and sell from!
First timer at AAR and i can say it was a wonderful experience from auction day to pick up day and all of my 23 building material items were in great conditions. Got to meet Phil the owner and my wife and i had a nice informative chat, awesome man. The movers were a great help and made pick up very easy. Looking forwards to more transactions with the company. I would recommend you to give the company a shot, you wont regret it.
I just want to start this review by saying that I have purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of heavy equipment at auction, both online auctions and in person. I have bought equipment at traditional auctions, online and over the phone, all across the country. ALWAYS, there is an option to preview/inspect an item in person before you bid. At Absolute Auctions and Realty, they did not offer this at a particular auction, that was the first red flag. I ended up winning the item I was bidding on, or at least so I thought. In the terms and conditions it said "all lots subject to seller approval". I have seen this terminology before and to me, an experienced auction buyer, and I assume most other people, would think the seller has some kind of reserve price, which is fine. Reserves and minimum prices should be set and bound by the seller BEFORE the auction. At "Absolute" Auctions and Realty, that's not the case. I was informed after the sale that my high bid was rejected by the seller. Uhm, excuse me? If I didn't meet the sellers reserve that lot should be an automatic no sale during bidding, or it should tell the bidder during bidding that reserve is not met. The fact that the seller/AAR can make up their mind AFTER bidding has ended is completely unacceptable for an auction. That is not an auction. This form of deciding the sale after bidding ended is not an auction, it's expedited Facebook marketplace. I would be embarrassed to have my business name as "Absolute" auctions. If the seller can deny my bid AFTER the auction, I should be able to reject purchase AFTER I inspect the equipment/win a lot. Especially since in person inspections were not allowed beforehand which is absolutely not the norm. AAR, you need to do better. Stop playing games, clean up the terminology in your terms and conditions, and allow inspections. Complete waste of time for the buyers and the seller. I would not recommend AAR to anyone. Do your online auction buying on a trusted platform.
ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS
BEWARE. I made a purchase of a sculpture at auction. Now I need to replace my credit card because they scammed me out of the money after they had me send them a photo of my driver's license and part of my CC.
They were in great communication with me right before they got the payment info. Then they ghosted, initially telling me to reach out to someone else via phone. Oddly enough, all of the emails between us in my Yahoo account also disappeared. I would have thought I was in the wrong account except for the fact that when I typed in the search term "Auction" all of their email addresses popped up.
Take Screen Shots when dealing with a new vendor!! Needless to say, I never received the sculpture and I never heard from them again even though I was supposed to make one more additional payment for shipping. I contacted them to ask when they were going to take it. Silence. So please be careful if you are not there in person and walking out with your purchase under your arm. Do not make any "arrangements" with them.
I've listed surplus equipment with AAR for nearly ten years and have had very positive experiences each time! There is no cost to list my equipment, AAR sends a representative to me to take all photos, again at no cost and lists each item in detail. We've consistently received more revenues than anticipated at each sale and are extremely pleased to do business with AAR!
