Nice place for little kids. Indoor water park is great for Winter recreation. Rooms are nice enough and there are plenty of cozy spots around the inn. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet.

The biggest draw to coming and staying at Abe Martin Lodge is the surroundings. Engulfed with nature on all sides, it's a nice getaway from road noise and busyness. The indoor pool and slide are great draws for families. The sitting areas inside and out are comfortable, giving you access to a rocking chair or fireplace. The rooms are rustic but to the point of being somewhat outdated and seemed a little neglected. It isn't my expectation that it would look like a more modern hotel or that the financial resources are there to implement these improvements, but definitely some could be done. I'd start with replacing the mattresses, which felt on par with laying on the ground in firmness. Some decor changes could also be nice, such as improved lighting and updated walls away from wallpaper. What could have made my stay better was the food. We dined at the restaurant that's in house on four occasions. Because we had two toddlers, we were able to utilize the buffet for them at no cost. While this was nice, the selections were a little scarce, but more worrisome, seemed to be reused, something I noticed the more meals we had. Biscuits seemed to take on a second life as a deep fried dessert that masked its stale state before hitting the deep fryer. I know not all buffets offer their best and it was my hope that by ordering straight from the menu, my options and quality might be improved, but this was only marginally so. The selections on the menu were mostly items in the buffet minus a few items at breakfast and lunch/dinner. I might suggest that some outside chef come in to offer tips to improve in this area as I could see this aspect of the hotel losing money. I do want to say though during our meals, we had some very friendly and helpful wait staff, who were able to offer us some information on things to do in town. Overall, I would come back here again and our family plans to. I imagine the only change we may make would be less meals in the restaurant unless things improved.

We stopped in to Abe Martin Lodge for lunch with friends. We had the lunch buffet and between our two families we had five children. The buffet was better stocked than any lunch buffet I had ever been to before. It was well worth the price, which was low all things considered. It was a great family environment and we will definitely do this again!

Accommodations we're pretty nice. Room stayed pretty warm and indoor pool was definitely a bit cool in Nov. Said something to staff and they said they would mention it to management but it would take a day and a half to actually warm up any. We did request a fire and seem like they'll make one for us iutdoors this evening. Overall very good staff, just a hot room and cold pool.

My wife and I had a great time at the Abe Martin Lodge located in Brown County State Park. The staff was very helpful in accommodating all our needs throughout our stay. The lodge restaurant is very good. They offer a buffet but you can order off the menu if you prefer. The lodge has a great indoor swimming pool complete with a water slide and hot tub! We stayed in a rustic cabin called "Gabe Craw 1" and it very charming. We were able to disconnect from our electronic devices and enjoy nature. I plan on returning to the Abe Martin Lodge in the future. It my become an annual family tradition!

Our kids enjoyed the stay, but for adults it was about as much fun as going to Chucky Cheese. Our stay was fine, the rooms were so-so. We had the breakfast buffet, and it had A LOT of options, but there wasn't anything that I would recommend. Also overpriced for what it was. The pool was fun for the kids, but there were several items in the splash park that were broken with caution tape around them. When we stayed, the hotel must have been understaffed. Luckily we arrived early, but people were waiting in line to check until 8-9pm as the front desk was understaffed and the maid service were still cleaning rooms until then. We probably wouldn't go back based on our experience. I do know others had a good stay there though. I believe if the right manager came in and made a few changes and updates, this would be a place to take a family to.

If there was an option for no stars, I would put it as that. The Family Cabin was not clean as it should. Don't get me wrong, to the un-observer it seems cleaned, but for the trained eye, you can spot it in an instance. I looked behind the television set and saw how dusty it was. Then I went on my hands and knees to looks under the entertainment center and saw how filthy it was under there. Not to mention seeing a giant cobweb under there, a mouse trap that had not been empty, hair in the beds, and the bathroom just looked old and worn down. Now with the staffVery nice. I'm surprised. It seems that they have undergo new staff. I remember back in 2014 in the summer and the fall a nice girl named June worked there. She was in housekeeping and worked at the laundry place. She made me and my significant other laugh for awhile while we stayed in a rustic cabin near the laundry room. She was the one who recommended the Family Cabin because me and my significant other smoked at the time. Sadly though we think we waited to long. I asked about her and seemed no one knew her. It's sad to see that businesses forget past employees so easily. Epically the ones who help make your memories of events more meaningful. June if you are reading this, thank you.

Service is good. Friendly staff were accommodating. Great place for kids. Indoor water park is a blast. Inside a fantastic state park with many trails and a fun nature center. Rooms are a bit dated but that could just be the lodge theme.

Peaceful, relaxing, cozy. IfYou want to get away and just unwind this is a wonderful place. The rooms are clean and comfortable not up to Modern standards as far as nice hotel rooms but they definitely get the job done. The staff is usually always very friendly and kind. The atmosphere and Ambiance is warm. The restaurant depends on what time of year you are going but in the summer time their food is amazing and in the wintertime not so much but I think they're working on that. The waterpark is wonderful probably best suited for children 12 and under.

Stayed at the family cabins. Lots of room plus kitchenette available. Great pool area with small lazy river, zero entry splash area (great for small kids), and water slide. Good eating at the restaurant as well. Frequently have a well stocked buffet.

We reserved a pet friendly cabin, and even my dogs said it's too dirty for them!! I moved the night stand to find a wall outlet for charger and found surprises there, pet hair all over the bathroom floor which obviously had not been washed, and dog hair on the sheets! I paid extra for a pet friendly room but didn't realize the extra charge was payment for dirt!!! Besides the beds are extremely old and uncomfortable, no coffee pot, blow dryer or television!!!! Help me!!

The restaurant service was excellent, and the buffet was what you would expect from an Indiana lodge (fried chicken, mashed potatoes). The pool was well above what I expected from a hotel, with a fun slide and large hot tub.

I attended my cousin's wedding at this lodge. I gave it two stars because the setting is beautiful. But the food was dry and some of the staff was rude. The bar tender was very nice but they ran out of the kind of beer I wanted after I had only had one. At $30 per plate, I strongly recommend looking at other locations.

I love the Abe Martin Lodge! The pool is really fun for an overnight getaway. We stayed in a rustic cabin room this time, which I'd only done once before. It was right by the hotel's linen room, and it was very loud for much of the night, so I probably wwon't risk that again and will stay in the lodge. Also, some new curtains and dusting in the corners would go a long way in the cabins. Lastly, the pool really needs new noodles. The current ones are falling apart. May be time to spend the $50 to upgrade Overall fun stay!

We wanted to take our 4 boys here for a "mini" spring break vacation because of the indoor aquatic center. We booked a two night stay, but ultimately only stayed the 1st night. We were there approximately 1 hour when the pool was shut down because of a child having an accident in the pool. We were informed the pool would be shut down just a little while for them to clean it. It was shut down all night instead because they didn't have anyone there to clean it until the next day. I understand accidents happen but if there was a lifeguard at the entrance (like there was suppose to be) to check that children had swim diapers (they also sold them) and had the parent sign the log, the "accident" could have been avoided. From there things just got worse. We ordered 2 med pizzas from the restaurant. When we went to pick our food up they had stacked both pizzas in a small square cake box. Definitely not good and on top of that they didn't have our topping so instead of informing us they just made it without it.
We had to drive into town for dinner (not a short drive). The roll away bed was torn up and not safe to sleep on. The front desk couldn't help with paper plates, coffee creamer, or anything because she claimed she couldn't get into storage to get anything. Oh and even though they have cable you only get 11 channels (3 of them repeats of same station). Their reason "because we're in the county". No, they were too cheap to pay for anything more than basic. (Would have been ok if pool was open so we didn't have to worry about TV).
All in all DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. When we checked out, the very next morning, there were several upset guest most receiving some sort of refund. Not the experience we thought it was going to be.
