This was a free preview screening. While I did not mind the wait, once inside the actual theater my friend and I discovered that the entire back section of the theater was reserved for the press. As this was my first such preview my friend explained that usually only 2 rows of seats were reserved.
Even minutes before the film began there were several seats in the back section available, yet members of the public were allowed to sit there. Perhaps I would have understood if the staff had been a bit more polite, but they were particularly rude to us patrons.
While this may not be the responsibility of the theater itself, this experience still left a sour taste for me.

A huge AMC. Many theaters very cool love it like every other AMC out there. I think they have a IMAX theater in 3D theaters if you're looking for those things good customer service relatively quick to get in and out of very comfy seats just overall Good Times. If you like movies you're going to like going here that's just how I movie theaters work.

Nice and pretty clean. Good theatre set up (we were in theatre 21). Wish they had recliner seats! Didn't try the concessions, but they had a good selection with mains like flatbreads. You can also bowl and play in the huge arcade. Guest services was super helpful resolving an issue with our Stubs account.

If you are downtown it's the place to go to see a movie. There also is an eclectic mix of bowling/games/dining that you don't get at some larger theaters that out of towners might find novel. Projection equipment and seating is very good maybe not the best, but excellent considering the location.

They have a nice arcade and bowling alley inside. There is also a full bar and a good selection of films. The seats have been redone since I last visited and our theater had full individual recliners. That being said, the tickets are more expensive than the average show. The bass on our Dolby Digital presentation was also excessive. I don't mind the low frequency tones, but whole theater was shaking and the rattling of the furniture and fixtures was annoying.

I like this theater because it's consistent. I don't want a huge armchair seat, I don't want an odd angle to the seating, I don't want weird food options brought in (I never even get popcorn). I just want to watch a movie, in a pure experience. This has that. My most frequented theater.

AMC River East has a great offer: all movies are $5 on Tuesday until October 31st. That's the good news. The bad news is its execution is atrocious. We were there tonight, the 12th, just before 7PM. There was just a SINGLE cashier for the general admission line. As a result the line was about 30 minutes. And we missed our movie. To take advantage of $5 Tuesdays go for matinees or show up at least 30 minutes before show times at prime times. The other solution is to buy a Premium membership which gets your own cashier. Tonight there was still a 10 minute wait for Premium members.

The price is high let me tell you so with the parking alone you know the tickets going to be high too. But it was all worth it. Saw "IT" in the Dolby Audio room. Reclining chairs, surround sound off the chain! Really nice venue with a sports bar, bowling, pool, arcade, the high class works in all. Recommend going for movies you know you only want and need to watch in the theater.

I have visited this place for more than 100 times and couldn't really complain about my movie watching experience. Though I had some issues but those were well addressed by staff and the place is often kept clean and had no issues regarding food. Like other theatres the food is often priced at high end but the quality is definitely good.

It really feels like the quality is deteriorating for an AMC, for the price being paid you should kinda expect to feel like this place is top notch. Then again I do like coming in on slow days when there aren't many distractions, perhaps on busier days this place might have a different ambience. The days I go just feel dead all the time, I'll take that over crowded lines and a noisy audience.

Everything is great except for the lack of comfort in the seating. Clean restrooms, fun artwork on the walls, and an avail bar to have a drink while you enjoy the movie. It would also make for a fun date night with the added options of Lucky Strike adult bowling and an arcade.

Nice place for having fun during a weekend! The Arcade and the Bowling Alley in the first floor are nice places to stop by while waiting for your movie to begin its screening!

I really love the selection at this theatre. I usually have to travel more than an hour to get there but it's the closest place to where I live to see special screenings. The place is always clean when I go there, staff is friendly, and the location is convenient (public transportation about 10 minutes walk). Really large theatre (2 floors) with a bar and arcade. Never had any issues with it

I've been going to this movie theater since my first year of high school. It is likely the best long-standing theater in Chicago. I love that they have independent films and host festivals. Now there's a bar inside too.
