Great crispy pizza. I'm definetly glad I stopped in. I ordered the AJs. If a pizza carries your name it's gotta be unique and its gotta be good. It definetly was both.
This place used to be my go-to for delivery, it was delicious and efficient, but sad to say after my last experience I am put off for good.
I ordered a reasonably easy meal: a medium well burger, a side of onion rings, and a grilled peach salad. On their order site, it mentions delivery times are 45-60 minutes, which is fine, as I haven't really had any issues in the past. And if there was an issue, they would call and we would figure it out.
Which leads me to my disappointing experience yesterday (9/25/17).
After waiting almost two hours with no call on the progress on our meal, my boyfriend called the restaurant and was told the kitchen was slammed. This was at nearly 7 pm. My order was put in a little after 5 pm, purposely to avoid being in the rush of dinner. They delivered our meal shortly after the phone call -- oddly enough the kitchen printer's time didn't match up when I had initially put it inwhich leads me to believe it was forgotten about.
The meal itself wasn't worth the time or the money (43 dollars, including tip and delivery fee). The onion rings were over salted and too crunchy, resulting in the batter breaking off. The burger was all right, but my boyfriend could have made a better one. The salad was fine, but I found little kernels of peach pit still inside the slices which almost resulted in chipping a tooth.
I'm not one to go out of my way to write negative reviews. I have worked in the f/b industry for six years, I understand that sometimes things go awry. But what's the point of telling someone to keep their phone nearby in case anything happens and the restaurant needs to contact them if they don't actually do it??
I'm sorry, but after spending money that I could have spent elsewhere for a better meal and getting my time wasted, I'm no longer in support of AJ's. I hope management can fix these issues and other customers won't have to suffer the consequences of their food being slapped together.
I used to go there alot for lunches and what not because I work at the yard and it is convenient. However I have been there twice in the past month.. first was for lunch and I order two slices of pepperoni and sausage and it was terrible the bread/dough was still doughy and soft.. second was today for my dad's birthday lunch and we got two large pizzas, 4 drinks and a fry and it was almost 60$ and it was terrible a under cooked raw mess. My family used to love this place one of there favorite pizza places.. it has gone down hill so fast it's ridiculous. The old flavor of the wood grill and garlic are gone it's just a rushed and hack job of a pizza now.. town pizza down the road is a much better place and cheaper.. I dont usually review stuff but today was the last straw I will never go back and I hope that someone reads this and saves themselves some money.
I love to eat here because of the atmosphere and the food. The entrees are usually what I look forward to. Most of all I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the barbecue sauce. On the Pizza, on the Chicken, on the side so good. Also love the Reuben. The fries. Pretty much all the food. It's all good. Jest eat there. Don't be surprised or complain if they're busy cause its good food.
This was our first visit, and our experience was wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was terrific. The pizzas were thin, crispy, and loaded with toppings, and the crust was just slightly charred. Single topping pizzas were good, but their specialty pizzas are where AJ's shines.
While there is limited seating, they have both inside and outside tables, and the atmosphere is pleasant. This is an establishment I'd highly recommend.
Oh, and don't forget to try the fried dough balls!
We were disappointed. Perhaps this corner pizza place that is small wouldn't be so bad if the atmosphere was more welcoming. Instead, it reminded me of your typical private small town atmosphere especially among the obvious locals and some workers. The gluten free pizza3 out of 5 at most. The regular pizza was okay and nothing special. The sauce was bland and there wasn't much of a flavor to the pizza. I'm sorry but we probably won't be visiting there again. I'm wondering about these other reviews. We've been to far better pizza place with better atmosphere and attitude than this place. Very disappointed.
very nice staff and amazing food. everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back.
I just tried this place for the first time today, and I loved it. Very nice staff, great food. We got a couple different pizzas and a chicken finger combo, and everything was really really good. I wish this place was closer to me.
A small dinning experience but great pizza options and quick service.
Very nice place. Unique pizza, imaginative food. Chef owned.
Food is ok. Delivery was late and the food was just warm by the time it got here. I am literally 1 mile away. They did not take very much time in preparing the meal because the pizza looked like it had been "thrown" together. Left out my drink and had to go back to get it. Add another 15 minutes or so to an already hour plus time. Needless to say they didn't hit it out of the park.
