Walked in for a shellac polish change on my toes only & whoa $38 dollars. I did appreciate them taking me bcuz he said they go by appts. Service was GREAT! Just thought $38 plus a $5 tip was a bit much $43 total. $22 where I usually go.

I work in television and film and moved back to Michigan from New York. I was told by a friend of mine who also lives in the area that she walks in all the time for a manicure and pedicure. I called while outside and asked the price of a pedicure and I told the customer service person that I'd see them soon. Once I walked about 60 seconds later, I told the young lady what I wanted to have done and then she asked if I had an appointment. When I told her no she told me they had nothing available. I told her that I have friends that walk in all the time but not once did she even ask me would you like an appointment for another day. I felt the color of my skin was the contributing factor. I live in the Grosse Pointe area and the unwelcome I felt was insurmountable. I will definitely pass this information along as to how racist and unprofessional this young lady was. You have to be careful because you never know who you come in contact with.

So disappointed with their services. I asked for pink natural acrylic nails that were almond shaped, I received some hacked nails in all kinds of weird shapes that took her 3 hours. I had been going there for many years because of proximity and the quality of service but service is the worst now. I won’t ever go there again. Such a waste of money!

I absolutely love AJ Nails, I've been going here for my manicures and pedicures since the day they opened. Not once have I ever had a problem with the service or quality of work done. I've had every employee in there do my nails and each time they do an outstanding job, doesn't matter who I get. Clean facility, friendly faces, and only about 2 miles away from my house. Only downside is having to sit in there and listen to the typical Grosse Pointe clientele. :)

Although there was a considerable wait time, the service was excellent. They have you pick your color beforehand, right after you sign in. The front desk attendant grabs it for you if it's shellac or gel polish. The woman who did my manicure with an overlay was so delightful. We had great conversation but it wasn't forced. The She did an excellent job on my nails, no mistakes or painful horror stories. The place was clean, minimalistic and contemporary. I'll be back here for sure.
