I was referred here by a friend and could not be more pleased! They fixed my car, the price was affordable, and they were professional and friendly. This is where my family will go from now on. Thanks Five Star!
Awesome very fair mechanics! This is the third shop that I took my car to The previous two shops charge me and not fix the problem five star auto repair fix my car and it cost less than the first two repairs that failed.
Short Version: Paid Five Star’s $85 diagnostic fee and they couldn't tell me what was wrong. Then they weren't even capable of putting my door panel back on correctly. Would not trust them to fix anything of mine!
Long Version: I recently left my 1999 Ford Mustang with Five Star Auto Sales & Repair, having seen them advertise with Bright House, to diagnose three problems I was experiencing: Stiff clutch pedal, left front window makes a loud noise when all the way down or up, and parking brake sometime failing.
After 4 days, I hadn’t heard anything so I called to get an update on my car. I was told they would call me back soon as they were just looking into the window. When I got a call back, I was told they weren’t sure exactly what was wrong with my window, and that it could be a couple of things; The worse case scenario costing over $400 to replace. I was told they only took the door panel off, and wouldn’t know what it was exactly until they took it apart further. This surprised me as I thought I was paying for them to diagnose my problem, not make a guess. It should also be noted that they failed to reinstall my door panel correctly, and I had to do that myself.
Secondly, Five Star could not determine what was causing my clutch pedal to be stiff. They recommended me replacing my clutch, despite it only being a few years old and at most 20k miles on it. Again, they could not exactly diagnose the problem and guessed that replacing the entire clutch and all related parts would solve this.
Lastly, Five Star was unable to determine why my parking brake sometimes failed to engage. This problem was intermittent at best, so I can understand not being able to replicate and I do not find them at fault for that.
I ended up paying $85 for Five Star Auto Sales & Repair to look at my car, which provided me no additional information to help fix my issues. They stated that I would be able to use the money I paid towards any repairs, but I do not feel comfortable using this company as they were unable to diagnose the actual problems.
I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for auto repair, and would never purchase a vehicle from them (Mine wasn’t). Ford often does a $10 diagnostic special, which tells you exactly what is wrong and what parts need to be replaced. I will be sharing my experience on various social media sites, and the Better Business Bureau, so others do not make the same mistake I did.
No stars. They sold my daughter in law a piece of crap because she is young and didn't know people did such shady things. Last week she took it in for a repair because her transmission is leaking, they took her $100 deductible according to the warranty and gave her a "receipt" for the repairs. Well, they didn't fix anything, there is a fresh puddle of transmission fluid on my carport everyday and as we speak. There are other issues, like a motor mount that will cause an accident eventually that they assured her they would fix before she signed the papers, it is still not fixed and they are apparently waiting for her 90 day warranty to run out. When she called them today they told her to bring it in when she has another $100. These people are committing deliberate fraud on anyone they can and I can't imagine who these people are rating them five stars. Maybe they are relatives or something because this place is crap, their cars are crap and they are ruining people's lives who just want to make a payment on a car that does what it's supposed to do. This will not be the end of this and I will tell anyone who will listen, I can even show them the fresh puddle and the shaking heap as it goes down the road as well as their phony receipts and BS warranty that doesn't matter because they don't really fix anything.
We purchased our car from 5 Star Auto Sales, and it was the easiest and best choice we could have made. Bruce the owner was exceptional in locating the vehicle we wanted and a pleasure to work with. Walt the General Manager was attentive to detail in making sure everything went smoothly. The car is beautiful and drives like a dream. Thank you for making this a wonderful experience instead of the nightmare we anticipated. We will purchasing another car in the near future and will certainly use 5 Star Auto Sales. We would most definatly recommend this dealership to our family and friends.
