I went to Gold Island to join my two friends who had travelled there 2 days before. The transfer took about 1-2 hours. I had booked the trip via FTI Touristik in Germany.
Arrival and Reception: (2/5)
Arrived at the hotel, I was told that there is a block B where I should stay although my friends were in block A. My request to stay with my friends was denied.
Stay in Block B: (2/5)
My room in Block B was very inferior in quality in comparison to rooms in Block a. I had booked an economy room but had expected a bit more of a five star hotel actually. The room‘s design was ok with a small balcony and I had enough space but in the first couple of days i had to fight with several problems: 1. my door didnt close on the first night, so anybody could have stolen my stuff. 2. the safe didn‘t have battery. 3. the water in the bathroom was very weak 4. constructions workers in front of the balcony were making a lot of noise, 5. cleaning ladies were making a lot of noise in the mornings at 8-9 am, 6. I didnt have any bed quilt (got it after requesting about 5x at the reception) etc. To sum up, I couldnt sleep well any night and didnt enjoy the room.
Food and Drinks: (5/5)
The food was very tasty and the selection was great. 24 hour drinks excellent. I enjoyed eating in the restaurant and drinking at the hotel and pool bars.
Staff: (4/5)
Most of the staff were very kind. Greats workers at the bars, disco and excellent animation team. Special praise for Jimmy, Hakan, DJ, Speedy Gonzalez and some workers at the bar whose names I dont remember. The hotel manager was very kind too and tried to fullfil every wish of the customers and handled problems with calm.
Some workers, though, should be nicer to the visitors and smile a bit more. I didn’t like the receptionists and some waiters in the restaurants as they didn’t care about the problems mentioned above.
Hotel facilities: (4/5)
Great hotel with several beaches and pool areas. It is located on a peninsula so almost private location with no exterior contact. Block A design is very good, block B is ok. Constuctions at the side of the hotel is annoying but there is no solution to that i guess. Pick a room in Block a if it bothers you. :)
To sum up, I would say that I enjoyed my stay at the hotel despite the difficulties I had. Normally I wouldn’t rate a hotel positive after having such problems but I also had many good experiences and could enjoy my stay alot with my friends so I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars.

Clean. Lovely food. Nice spacious modern rooms. Great experience at the spa. Large choice of drinks that are of good quality!!

Great location on a peninsular so beach all around, the lit up dome is fantastic to look at.. we have a room in block B with whirlpool and it is spacious and modern. There are a few pools around the hotel aswell as bars, snack bars and fridges for water

Hotel is in a nice area with a nice setting. The stay here was off to a rocky start with no towels in our room and struggling to get reception to provide these this was the only downside of the stay so far. Food and drink was good especially in b block. Rooms were nice and clean and cleaned regualry. Hotel management were quick to react on concerns regarding our room which was very welcome and made the stay feel special. Highlights were the evening entertainment and animation team alongside great service from the evening dining team in b block.

The worst hotel I've ever been to, the AC is not working, the water is always cold you cant even shower, there is a very disgusting smell in the rooms, we were promised a non-smoking room with the sea view but they put us in a smoking room which has a balcony facing another building! This hotel doesn't have the very basics to be even a three star hotel let alone five.

Fantastic family holiday. Spacious rooms with great views. Maintenance of rooms could be better but hotel will fix them if notified. Food is mainly Turkish and sometimes repeated but if you want a change the pool side bar offer up a range of Snacks. Staff were friendly and great with the kids. Would definitely visit again!

Staff were great. Facilities excellent. There is an adults only pool also if you like quiet time. The food was varied and there was nothing I did not like. The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from the beach. We liked it so much we are going back again in a few months.
