What an incredible experience. My first time to a Turkish bath and this is the perfect place for. Professional staff who speak english, clear (and reasonable) prices, clean facilities and of course great spa and massage. Would highly recommend to anyone.
This place was a great find! Best value spa I’ve been to. Definitely do the full package! You can either bring a swimsuit or go without. The staff is super friendly and they give you complimentary delicious apple tea while you wait. Would highly recommend if you have an extra 2-3 hours in Istanbul!
First time experiencing a Turkish bath and it was quite the experience. We did the full package with the oil massage and face mask. My friends and I didn't really know what to expect so when we started our experience, we were a little confused as to where to go and what to do. The initial guidance and instruction was very minimal. However, we got through it and enjoyed our experience very much at the end! We got there right when they opened at 10am and it wasn't too busy. We didn't feel rushed at all. We stayed for about 2.5 hrs. They serve a sweet tea in between the different phases that was super delicious.
First Turkish Bath experience and it proved to be very enjoyable. Lying on my back in the Hamami was relaxing and exactly what I hoped it would be. I guess it helped that I had the place completely to myself. The staff were all helpful, welcoming and professional. For the price- it was great.
Reasonably priced, especially if you opt for the massage option as well as the scrub. Old building with a nice layout and very centrally located, however we had serious concerns with the hygiene of the place. Instead of changing scrubbing mitts (either individually or even occasionally) they used the same mitt for the 20+ people that came in-and-out while we were there. They even used the same rinsing water for everyone they scrubbed and while we're typically very laid-back people, we felt like we had to write a concerned review after we both got skin fungi from our visit.
I feel old atmosphere in Aga turkish bath. staff is helpfull and hospitality
Fun experience bit massage and facial treatment are not nessasery, again, worth the time and money , just recommend not to get massage and facial treatment.
When i was walking in taksim, istanbul. I saw the Aga turkish bath. i come down alittle to see turkish bath. Two friendly reciption person explain me everthink. I changed my cloths firstly. Then i went hot place of the hamam.i used hot water i lay on the main marble o used steam room . Next process was scrub and foam bath.i fell myself like new born. Then i drink free apple tea. I did not get oil massage. Aga hamami is oldest turkish bath in istanbul. You can fell it. It was nice.
Definitely geared towards tourists in every way except the lack of English speaking - don't expect to have any idea what you are doing, just follow the one word commands from the staff and prepare yourself for a very traditional experience. Wear your swimsuit and don't take a lot of stuff with you, don't carry your phone around. There will be personal changing rooms you can lock your clothes and valuables in while you're in the bath area. Highly recommend the massage (so get the full package), that was my favorite part. They serve you apple tea while you wait to go back into the baths while is a nice touch. Very affordable!
All reviews are fake. They offer you a free towel if you leave a 5 star review. This place is unsanitary. There ceilings are full of mold. They used dish soap for the foam bath (if you can even call it that) there was underwear stained with period blood hanging in the ceiling!!! They scrubbed me with a mitten that must have been used by hundreds of other people. Pleaseee don't go here! Very scary!
I was waiting so long to come here after good recommendations I heard. There is a positive and wonderful atmosphere, architecture is lovely. After all cleaning procedures finished I felt so good. Stuff provide me a warm feelings and tasty tea. Will be happy to come here again and again when I'm in Istambul! Thanks, aga hamami.
Amazing place! This is first time I have tried turkish bath. The massage one really helped me to relax my legs, and sauna room is good too. I will come back next when i have chance.
Truly a horrible place to visit! They openly discriminated against me by refusing entrance because of my Turkishness. I would discourage anyone who's considering to take a bath here!
Very nice experience! Staffs are very friendly and the service is very good, we were 6 six people mixed standard and massage packages. Both were very good
There's something very dodgy happening with this hammam. We called to make a booking, but were told that that's impossible over the phone and we need to fill their comprehensive booking form online.
When we didn't get any kind of acknowledgement of receiving our request, we called again and the moment we mentioned the names in the online booking, the call mysteriously dropped. We tried calling again straight away but nobody answered that call, neither the following attempts we made.
We felt that the ad mentioned by other people here, the team of the hamam may be picking and choosing customers which obviously is not acceptable.
WORST HAMAM IN ISTANBUL and I've been to quit a few to have an educated judgement! The place refuses service to people with specific ethnicity. When I heard of this first time around I made a booking on a different name just to be able to enjoy a bath with my Portugese girlfriend as there aren't many mixed hamams. The reason you need to book is because they want to exclude those who they feel have an unfit name. Still, I left a wealthy tip afterwards. Today I tried to enter with my Canadian friend, again booking on a different name. Now suddenly I had to show my ID. When I did so, they said I couldn't enter anymore, cause I was Turkish. The owner even threatened me with calling the cops on me and that therefor I shouldn't leave anywhere. When I said he should call, so I would file a suitcase against him for racism, he backed down and asked me to leave. Don't be deceived by earlier reviews, only recently have they adopted these racist rules, cause of the change of owner. Please avoid this place, you'll do a disservice to humanity if you keep businesses like this running when other hardworking hamams are seeing their numbers drop. Besides, ask yourself this: how good can a hamam be if its just for tourists?
I went in the morning, and had almost all of the hamam for myself. What you receive for the price is incredible. (110 YTL for scrub & massage & entrance & towels & tea).
The building is quite old (not everything is renovated), but I think that adds to the atmosphere. The scrub woman was not really the social mind of type, some might say unfriendly (I don't), but my skin is super soft now. And that's more important :)
Great place. Nice massage and center. Would definitely come back
