This place was super average, I couldn’t even charge my laptop without the power shorting out. We were able to move rooms because of the problem but of course the same issue in the next room!
Not worth the price in my eyes
Bordering on a slum.
Features:
Tiny room
Miniature barely useable ironing board
Noise from early evening until dawn
No aircon, sticky and humid
Dingy floors, walls and ceilings
Bottom line - avoid at all cost
Very small and basic accommodation but very clean, ideally located in a central location and with friendly and helpful staff.
Great cheap accommodation in the cbd. Small basic rooms with comfy clean beds, tea and coffee. No hairdryer. Suitable for those times you just need a bed. Tiny balcony which is nice for fresh air. If you can't cope with street noise there are ear buds in the room.
Staff is polite reasonable and flexible. Unfortunately the rooms we occupied had some smell in the toilets. However the staff understood and gave us replacement rooms, which was much better. Cheers Cheers!
Located in the central city area, making it very convenient to move around Auckland with ease as taxis and buses are readily accessible on the Queens Street. There are also many restaurants, shops and supermarkets available. Staff were really nice and friendly as well.
The room was okay for our needs. The room is very small and the bathroom is slightly bigger than the size of a closet. Our room had a mini kitchen, although you couldn't actually use the stove because there's no cooking utensils or cutlery (although I think you have to request this to staff if your want it) . Lastly, sensitive sleepers might want to avoid this place as there can be a lot of noise (from the fridge making noise, outdoor noise, neighbouring room noise). Despite this the room was clean and functional for our needs.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Auckland for a 1-2 days maximum, say for a concert. Where you just need a place to sleep and nothing more. I feel like some reviewers are expecting too much for a cheap hotel. You get what you pay for.
Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, including hostels.
Our rooms bathroom completed flooded after having a shower. The lamp would continue to flicker all throughout the night. The entire hotel smelt of cigarettes and smoke. The carpet was ripped from the floor and the bed was broken and uneven. Lastly the heater would not stop creaking all night.
I had the worst sleep ever.
Lucky we only stayed the one night.
Would definitely not recommend to anyone.
Pay a little bit extra for something worth your money.
I recently stayed at this motel in a studio room and cannot say enough about how helpful all the staff were. For a person staying on their own, particularly a lady travelling alone you feel very secure, room is small but has all you need, position is great. I would always stay there when visiting NZ.
Some hotels you go to for the hotel experience. Others you go to just for a place to sleep. This is one of those. Small rooms but they seem clean.and the location is convenient.
Nothing like in the photos, the place is quite run down, rooms r super small n the building is old, no space to even open one luggage and lie flat in the room. The hall way only fits one person at a time (very narrow for prams n strollers). There's no chair/table (luggage chair) in the room as in photos on their website. The bathroom is extremely small with toilet right next to the open shower and no space in between. Does not provide body wash or body lotion. Sheets are cheap, bed super soft, thin pillows. Staff r friendly and efficient though. No way it's kids friendly, we asked to have a cot on the phone at booking and it wasn't there on our arrival. Cot came later after we requested it again at the reception, it is very old and unclean, we asked to have layers of sheets over the mattress, feel terribly sorry for our baby. Cost $160/night, highly disappointed as only book it because it is associated with the accor hotels in which their names I trust. Would not recommend at all with babies or not.
Was very disappointed how small the room was. Charged $290 for a match box room, besides being close too city Witch was good but shouldn't charge so much $$ for a tiny sized room, no air conditioning place very runned down.. Disappointed
Location is excellent (minutes from Queen Street and Vulcan Lane); staff is efficient and friendly. Beds were small twins but very comfortable and clean. Room is very, very small and loud ( a lot of noise from street until Early AM) and only 1 set of ear plugs are provided. Rate was fantastic but prefer a larger bed and room.
Friendly staff. Clean linens. Great view of the tower from our room. Located right in the city central. The room was a bit small and in the picture when we booked, there was a mini kitchen so we were expecting a stove, however the room we received did not have one. They gave us ear plugs in case it was too loud, however it was not loud in the evening. Parking at the location is pricey and limited (costs $50 a night, if they have space).
