Considering this is in the middle of nowhere, it’s not as much as a tourist trap as it could be.
Free wifi (check your receipt for the key)
Pies are hot, varied , reasonably priced and tasty.
Coffee was good, got the kiwi cinnamon or chocolate, choice that i missed in the bigger cities.

    Good food range.
    Fill up
    Here before heading East

Pretty overpriced for not very exciting food. Especially the store seems to be taking advantage of the lack of competition. $2.50 for a $0.70 can of baked beans

Hot foods such as pies, wraps, sanwiches, pastried and fruit to select cafeteria style and also a menu to order meals from. Lots of dining space inside and out. If you sit outside look out for the cheeky Kea birds who will try to take your food. They come up very close and are not bothered by people.

This store opens at 8 which is a great thing but the food I believe is slightly over priced.

Awful customer service. Asked a lady for the wifi password, instead of telling me she sent me to check sugar bowls (checked 3 of them, in fact made a fool out of myself asking people at their tables if I can check the sugar bowls, none of them had any password on it). Asked another person for wifi password, he was too busy to answer 1 SIMPLE QUESTION, told me to go somewhere else. Finally found 2 ladies very busy chatting to each other, the way they responded to my question was absolutely ignorant, I'd even call it disrespectful. Please work on customer service skills, as this cafe, however lovely coffees it serves, is lacking basic manners when dealing with customers.

Terrible service, not overly clean, pushy tourists, pies nothing to write home about, but they did have a gluten free option which was nice. Very impressed with the coffee, rather burned tasting. If desperate, sure, if not, drive on.

I am visiting this place from last 3 years however the recent visits in last 3-4months have been really awesome. Very good coffee, food and great service. The reason behind this is the change of management I think.
Further all tourists and travellers out there- this is the best place to chill over a sip of coffee n munch some food. You could also buy some basic groceries out here with a option of good warm clothing at very reasonable prices.
    Give it a try!!!
    Awesome cafe and store-do visit!!!
