Nice and quiet, lots of camping spots and options, but the tent camping is at odds with the RV camping, because we were asked to move our car several times so RVs could leave, so not the most well laid out campsite. The kitchen was clean with everything you need to cook and seemed to be well managed. Friendly reception with lots of info and a shuttle service to the start of the crossing. Would likely just get a powered RV spot next time, to save us the trouble of using a meager tent site.

A pretty campsite that mixes well with the surrounding forest. Some of the vehicle sites offer scenic views over the stream and forest. Lots of birdlife too. Plenty of clean toilets and showers (free, clean). Laundry available at $4, but there are only 2 machines so you may need to queue. A free drying room is available. Huge, clean kitchen. Complimentary wi-fi that's surprisingly fast. Camping fees are a bit pricey, but the facilities are simply great and you're in the middle of the national park!

We really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a good resting place after completing the Tongariro Northern circuit! There is a grocery store nearby and we visited the Tokaanu thermal pools about 30 min drive away.

Perfect location for the famous tongariro alpine crossing and other walks! Staff was very friendly and there’s a shuttle bus departing 2 or 3 times in the morning to the start of the crossing. Pre booking recommended for the Holiday Park! Sites are great, very private. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were clean and big. Unfortunately they only have 2 washing machines and one wasn’t working, so maybe plan to do your washing somewhere else.

Camping spots are surrounded by trees, which block the views. Kitchen is nice, big, with a lot of supplies and clean! Toilets and showers are good. $4 for both the washing machine and the dryer. There is a drying room available also (comes in handy during rainy days). Wi-Fi is slow during 'peak hours' (1GB/day for free).

Loved this place. Kids did to but not the most kid friendly place. Having said that the staff were great and had lots of things for the kids to use in the office. Wish we had spent more time.

Just beautiful. Each van site is surrounded by lush native vegetation, making the sites so much more private and pleasant than most holiday parks. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities and of course, walking distance to the incredible hiking trails.

One og my most favourite campsites in New Zealand. Campsites tucked into secluded bush. Hot showers and running rivers. All with the snow capped volcanoes as your backdrop.

Van sites and facilities are very good. Service is awesome. But backpacker lodge rooms are just meh. Wifi is awful.

This holiday park is in a great location, close to the nearby tongiriro crossing. You will need to get a shuttle that the reception can organize for you. It isn't cheap through and is $30 per person. If you wanted to save money you could drive to the start and just do up and back down the same side. The west side via the crater to the lakes is more scenic.

The only problem with this place is that the camping is too squashed in and there are not enough car parks. For the tents below there are 2 parks, also there is a really bright light above the tents so if you don't like a night night sleep take a face mask

The weather wasn't the best while we stayed here. But the kitchen, hot showers, laundry, and office were great. We stayed in a tent the first night before upgrading to the cabins due to all the rain. Very much enjoyed the cabins
