Fantastic people, fantastic fruit just an all round amazing place
Nice farm. Overall it is a nice place. I went there last month for può cherry and it was a nice experience and it was well organized. To nitpick 17$/kg is too expansive for a pyo cherry activity in cherry season Besides this, it's a really welcoming place and the cherry are really nice ones. Recommend.
Top quality cherries (17.50kg)great day out.
We came down from Auckalnd for holiday, felt every disapointed about the cherry quality. The cherries we bought were below the average, I would rather buy from supermarket. I felt the farm sends the good quality ones to supermakets and sells the leftover to us. I did take some photos to proof what I am saying.
I believe most of people come to the farm mainly expecting high quality and fresh fruit instead of cheaper price. The sample we tasted was very different from what we bought. Btw, the farm sells cherries at $20 per kilo.
Good Cherries, fresh and tasty, but they don't offer export grade, first grade is the best they got. This orchard did not insure for children, all children under 6 are not allowed in. So we didn't get to experience PYO, with an infant in a baby carrier. They could've been clearer by putting up a more obvious sign out at the gate. Limited parking space. Decent price, $17/kg PYO or $20/kg for pre-picked. Friendly staff on site, except the owner was a bit aggressive. Worth exploring other PYO orchids along the same road.
Really nice people, yummy cherries
