Gave birth here. Great doctors, midwives, and all the staff. Thanks Wellington Regional Hospital!
It's stressful to be in a hospital. Although I don't blame the hospital for this, this was my experience. My wife had a fall and I decided to drive into the hospital rather than call the ambulance. Due to this we were quite low priority for them. The waiting room was cold and I think we must have waited for 2 hours or more. Not a great experience. I think the health system is to blame rather than this hospital.
Speaking specifically about the Pain Clinic which is awful. Reception staff rude and the particular doctor and psychologist I saw was a complete waste of time. Never listen and wrong paperwork or things not done properly so forever on the phone trying to fix this. Also parking in that area horrendous. They really need to more helpful to patients dealing with all sorts of pain conditions
I agree that the staff here is rude and inconsiderate. I originally went to urgent care and they sent me to the hospital. Upon arriving in Emergency the receptionist repeatedly talked down to us about how expensive it was going to be (U.S. citizen), although I kept assuring her it was fine, as we have the financial means that we could have paid right there, my main concern was that the baby growing inside of me was okay. At some point my partner looked down and there was a giant pool of blood under both of us, and on his pants/shoes. It took a few minutes of us freaking out until the receptionist very non-chalantly spoke up to say it was from someone else who had injured their foot. It was pretty disgusting experience for someone in their first pregnancy and that she knew it was there and hadn't bothered to have anyone come clean it up, nor say anything to warn us prior to stepping it.
My son was in terrible pain, A and E was so busy with Lions game in Wellington. We were seen with urgency and the doctors were very thorough when treating him and the on going communication was great. The doctors and nurse Danielle covered all the bases and kept a good eye on my sons progress. Very much appreciated, especially as staff seemed stretched to take care of so many people. He is recovering well in the Childrens Ward and he is still being really well taken care of ! Thanks and Well Done All Staff 👏👏👏👏
Last week I was in Wellington Hospital. The doctors, nurses and cleaning staff were excellent. Great treatment and well looked after from A&E to High Dependence Ward. A big thank you to you all.
Poor feedback from staff, unresponsive and long waits. Highly fustrating when waiting with a loved one. Get more resource & better staff engagement
Good to have a hospital. Staff not so great. Well one lady doctor was pretty horrible. She even wrote an article to let every one know about her biased thinking.
6 south what to say they saved my life I'll alway have a place for them in my new heart haha
Emergency room useless, waiting time on average is over 4 hours. Hospital treat you like a crap, they can be late for 2 hours but you can't be late for 2 min.
Awesome hospital real polite and helpful staff will maped and sign posted
Had a small mass removed under G.A. Dr Andrew Ing, Dr Mein and the recovery nurses Rebecca and Danica where absolutely fantastic!! Nothing was an issue for them and they made it stress free. Extremely friendly and helpful, especially at this time of year
Ample parking, spacious, clean and comfortable. Offers good facilities, breastfeeding and antenatal classes.
