Good place to stay the night if you've been to the glow worms and visited the other 2 caves. You can book tickets to the Hobbiton movie set tour here as well even though it's sold out online, that's what we did. There's a majestic waterfall and a natural bridge 35 mins away must see if you're in the area.
We had a van and stayed on a powered site, I really enjoyed this park, we had stayed at a few Top 10 before and this was the nicest, the toilet block was very clean, there was a school group staying and using the pool area when we arrived, but they were very quiet and well behaved. The staff were excellent, Leteisha in the office was very helpful and let us park where we wanted to before we paid, and helped us book the caves tour, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, Its a great spot to stay and explore Waitomo, I would recommend it to others.
We stayed at the ensuite unit and for what it was, it was great. Clean rooms and bathroom, location is 2 minute drive to the Waitomo Caves, had no complaints.
We arrived late in the afternoon. For an early cave tour. Very friendly staff allowed us to leave our motorhome parked there the next day until we got back from the tour at lunch time. Hot spa and very clean and fresh amenities.
A good campsite with good facilities in close proximity to local attractions and a number of bars and restaurants. Quite a busy campsite even in early spring but we'll kept campsite to stop at. Seemed popular with youngsters and travellers
Lovely caravan park with clean facilities and a great pool and spa. Service was great and having an area to congregate at night was fantastic. Highly recommend, even for large groups 👍
Great place, really clean, beautiful spot. Only recommendation would be to have a little store or vending machine on site. The General store closes around 3:30pm and then the closest supermarket is 16km away!!
Nice holiday park with basic amenities. Friendly staff and close to the caves. Convenience store is across the road from the park.
Still very good top 10 Holiday park! Staff were super helpful and wonderful service, facilities were super clean and a great location
The park is in an excellent position in the middle of town very close to some great café and bars, facilities are a bit dated however they are spotless and functional ,the staff are very helpful and as usual for kiwis extremely friendly, the caravan and motorhome sites are fairly small however overall a good place to stay shortterm
Although the staff were friendly that was the only thing I liked. The place was so noisy! It's totally open to the street
at front and the sports ground at rear so not only did we have rugby players yelling and screaming until after dark (huge spotlights) but also the bars were blasting loud music until around 1am.
The price of $25 for an unpowered site is more than I've paid anywhere in NZ including peak season in Queenstown! At that price I would expect a well appointed kitchen but there wasn't a single pot, pan, knife or fork.
For a campground of this size I would expect more than 3 toilets and I didn't appreciate a long uphill walk at night with zero lighting.
Come on guys! The price should match the product.
Stayed here October 2015 while working my way around New Zealand. Owner and Manager were great people. Hooked me up with a cabin nice and cheap (was fairly quiet). Recommended the best tours, place to eat, etc. Cabin had 4 beds so was a bit big for me but great spot to rest up, Clean, Spacious, Kitchenette and a nice view from the cabin was a bonus. Recommended.
Very nice campsite. Lady who checked me in was bright and welcoming. Generous site size for my tent and all other facilities seemed pretty good although only used the bathroom.
The best Top 10 park that we stayed at in New Zealand. Friendly & polite staff, beautiful scenery & very tranquil.
Within walking distance are 2 or 3 very nice places to eat & drink.
Great place, would come here again.
