Beautiful place and wonderful owners!
Wonderful place in the Coromandel Peninsula to get in touch with nature.
Close to the coastal road but feels like you're in the middle of the forest, situated next to a nice stream, the accommodation is good-sized chalets, very friendly staff. Only downside is the road to access the lodge is a steep, winding, dirt road, so can be tricky to navigate at night

Nice motel located in a "hidden valley". The motel has area to play games, and has a stream by the side of it which you can go on in kayak's.
We had a whistle stop tour through the Coromandel and have to say this place was impressive.
The accommodation was great. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin, which was very spacious and comfortable. There was car park space for 2 cars, although unfortunately the people staying in the cabin next to us knocked our car and dented the door and didn't own up! That has no bearing on our experience of this place though.
The owners were great. Laid back and friendly, even helping us book our next place.
There is loads to do as well. As we were only staying 1 night we didn't get to do half the stuff available, but did really enjoy the kayaking in the creek!
Te Mata itself is quite remote, and mostly untouched jungle, so make sure you bring food & mosquito repellent.
Overall, and amazing place. Gives a true feeling of New Zealand and the Coromandel.
A lovely place to stay on the Coromandel. We stayed in the chalet - loved the views, sound of the river, comfortable bed. Very clean and well appointed. Breakfast basket was a great value. Friendly hosts.
