never been there. engineering departmemnt has limited knowledge on different parameter variables that could bve used. hurts my eyes, didnt learn much. sigma isnt the only greek letter btw

Great university for degrees such as engineering and more standard STEM subjects. Definitely not an institution that values art or culture.

I learnt a lot studying here, let some great people and had some great times. It is not a perfect system though and there are some things that I didn't like about studying here. Over all it was pretty good though

Top university in Auckland. Has 95% of its subjects has top ranking in New Zealand. The fees is high but the facilities and staff is amazing. Great environment for studies and they do ensure that students get best education and they are safe from bullies or racism. Fantastic place to study in Auckland.

A truly commercial institution that only cares for the student’s fees. I had the misfortune of going through my postgraduate studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from this university. Got mislead by all the advertising in regards to ‘experts in wireless power’ only to discover that I was only useful to the staff for intellectual property purposes and writing research papers purposes so that they can progress through their careers. I did not get a funded scholarship even though I had decent grades because I wanted to try something novel. Only those from overseas universities are useful to this university as they are seen as a more long-term prospect i.e they can screw you up as they like, whilst promising you permanent residency and Post-Doc opportunities after PhD completion. Also, if you start up with a Masters you may get forced to convert this midway to a PhD as they are insecure in you leaving or changing topic after the end of your Masters degree. However, it is sad to note that there are still many desperate people/students from developing nations who crave for this "NZ opportunity." Supervisors, especially those from Poland, who use offensive words against you whilst making you feel worthless. Ask a doubt regarding the subject matter in supervisor meeting and the response is "Great question! I want you to find out about this for the next supervisor meetup." Get the impression that they are experts in dodgy behavior and perverted escapism with inflated egotism. For example, not showing up to meetings, not providing feedback to your drafts, and forcing you to take an extension. You pretty much get coerced to submit all your research for no return with the excuse of "so that others may learn." And, the worst part of all this is that you have to mention the names of these academic miscreants in your acknowledgements section of your thesis, even though you want to spit at them, as they yield so much power over you completing the course and in future as a referee. Ask them to be your referee as your past supervisor when applying to other universities for study or for finding work and you encounter their true nature where your character is maligned and your skills are portrayed in a negative manner. Wish an end to their permanent tenure at the University as they are more interested in their consulting business rather than supervising student's research. Businesses that use the technology developed by this University are complicit in endorsing the practices and values of this research group. I hope the rich oil companies impede the research of wireless charging of EV’s and screw the wireless power research of this university. In addition, patients using wireless power application may soon discover some terrible side effects of this technology and press criminal charges against these perpetrators. Wouldn't recommend this place for postgraduate study!

Administrative processes are harder than attainting the qualifications on offer. Students are also numbers (ID number and GPA) rather than human beings to the vast majority of staff. Inclusive educational policies are lip service. Great place to go if you hate yourself and want the name of university that looks good on your CV at the price of being dehumanised for the duration of your study :)

Very unsupportive university. Their international student manager who worked for this university and later the Wellesly branch of ANZ deceived an international student into buying an ANZ insurance package, which the Wellesley Street branch of ANZ denied even though the student showed them the business card with her name printed on.
Worse still, when I joined lectures on Tamaki Campus, they were packed with students insulting good lecturers. Some of them were more like hooligans than anything.response / report this review -

I studied abroad here for a semester and absolutely loved it. Everyone was extremely friendly, the campus was beautiful and the application process was extremely easy. I can easily say it was the best 6 months of my life.
