A party of seven of us stayed one night at Hobbit Motorlodge and thoroughly enjoyed our short time there. For a no-frills, comfortable motel with friendly hosts, you could do a lot worse. It is the second time we've stayed there, which is a recommendation in itself.

Only stayed one night on our way from Auckland to Wellington. Phil was an excellent host and upgraded us. We were very happy with our one bedroom suite. Room was clean and tidy and had sufficient kitchen ccokware. Bathroom was a really good size. Water pressure in the shower was excellent. Laundry facilities were great. Highly recommend this accommodation. We were a family of 3 adults and a 3mnth old baby and loved the room and the service. Would definitely come back and stay again.

Quality rooms and friendly hosts. Stayed in the 2 bedroom unit (sleeps 4-5) with friends. Cant think of any criticism. This was our second stay and would go back again.

Lovely warm place..we are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (age 14,11,6) and the suite we had was very comfortable and with enough space to all of us! Room was clean,tidy and warm.. The jacuzzi was great! The owners are friendly and were very helpful, they had all the needed information about the mountains and how to go and what to do! As it was our first time to visit the mountain! Nice location, very close to New World and we had a discount voucher for TCB! We will definitely go back to The Hobbit Motor lodge! :)

I have stayed at the Hobbit on an number of occasions while visiting 'the mountain' and it continues to meet all my needs. It is an excellent motorlodge, the rooms are ideal and the facilities meet a number of needs for the active visitor. I would certainly recommend this as an excellent choice while in 'Kune'.

Great place to stay, clean and comfortable, well located. Have stayed a number of times, always my first choice. Great in winter for ski trips - warm rooms, easy access to mountain. Nice, comfy units and very well run. Highly recommended.

Whenever I go to Ohakune I always stay at the Hobbit. The rooms are always immaculately clean, the management friendly and helpful at a very reasonable price. It's a nice central location. handy to town facilities and a straightforward trip up to the ski fields. I highly recommend it.
