Clean helpful friendly efficient guest service. Love the hot pool and barbeques. Casual relaxed and open areas. Outdoor indoor dining with restaurant and bar facilities. Laundry facilities with clean showers and abolution blocks. Gardens and greenery gives a bush feel with native birds. A range of budget dorm and lodges on offer. Lots of parking with a few minutes walk to CBD. Close to weekend markets with parks and aquatic centre around the corner. Overall highly recommend accommodation to friends and colleagues abroad. Bistro mesls cooked on site. I love it here this been my second stay while on business.

Affordable, but it's really outdated, and not in the best conditions (kitchen, toilets and showers should be renovated asap). I had planned to stay 2 nights, but in the end I stayed just one.

Value for the money. I only stay for one night, the room is clean, we need to arrange the bed cover for ourselves. There's a table and a chair. It's great if you need a place to read or working on your Laptop. The shared bathroom and toilet is clean.

I liked this place. We stayed in private cabins. There was a lot of space inside. Good showers. Common kitchen well equiped. Nice hot pool - the area around rooms green and good to chill. Good value for the money you pay.

Woke up to a life sized cardboard cut out of Winston Peters falling out of my wardrobe at 2AM. Although I kept the cut out and slept with it in my bed, I would not like to be surprised like that again in the future. Thanks for the hospitality!

Best place to stay in Rotarua with their very own thermal pool! Would recommend staying here for at least two nights.

I hardly slept due to the papar thin walls and the sound of foot steps. The toilet and shower facilities were unclean with poor lighting. NOT worth $70.
The receptionist disregarded any of our concerns. A stay at The Backyard Inn would be worth $30 max.

Units are a bit basic just a step above a packpackers dorm with no cooking facilities in the unit. OK for people on a budget though a little too basic for our tastes however the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A fairly standard Inn, located quite centrally to most places in Rotorua. It has decent sized rooms and is quite clean.

I can only speak for the tentsides which were mediocre at best (litter on the ground and dirt ground instead of grass) but the facilities are nice and the staff is very friendly. you should definitely check out the lake though!

Pretty average lodgings to be honest. It is a budget place, so I didn't expect total luxury. However the bathrooms were grimey and the lighting in there is so poor I practically showered in the dark. Also I don't think they pay much attention to the bathrooms as the ladies toilets were completely out of paper; obviously not restocked regularly which leads me to think they're not cleaned all that often either.

Rooms were very small, no room for baggage as what little space was left in the room was filled with useless furniture. Mattress was beyond uncomfortable; springs busted and the frame of the mattress completely collapsing. Only one powerpoint for a four share dorm, and when I went to the common area to find one, there was only one also.

Went to check out early and there was no obvious place to leave keys. Sure hope they didn't charge me for a lost key, I left it in the mailbox which could have been the neighbours?

Next time I'll book somewhere closer to town, with better facilities. There are other places in Rotorua with better value for money. Would not recommend this place, unless you are desperate.
