Awesome experience at The Athlete's Foot, Riccarton, today. Went in for business shoes expecting the regular routine and was blown away by the service I received. After speaking with Simon for 30 minutes, I can't believe how much I've missed out on in other shoe stores! More than once I've gone home with shoes that don't fit well or aren't suitable for my purposes which then just sit in my cupboard, but I can't imagine that happening with these guys.

Simon took the time to check out my existing shoes (no other shoe salesperson has done this for me) and demonstrated why they've worn poorly before taking me through some suitable alternatives from their stock. He put together an option along with some extra insoles, talked me through the benefits, and I walked away happy knowing that I've got a great pair of shoes and for the first time I even understand what makes them so good!

Thanks team. I'll be back for some hiking shoes soon!

The service provided by the assistant in the shop was disappointing from the start. The greeting was court and unfriendly. He ignored my request for walking shoes and tried to get me to try on running shoes instead. Contrary to the claim that "we have not found a foot we cannot fit", I was told that shoes are made on a standard last and if that does not fit my foot it could not be helped. I was also told to stop interrupting his explanation of the different features of the shoes when I tried to explain what my requirements were. I bought my shoes elsewhere where the service was friendly, helpful and proved no problem in finding something that suited my feet.
