The food was beautiful, the service was great and even though they were busy the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. I wish we had Tanto Japanese in the Waikato.

We've eaten here several times now and it's always the same. Excellent food, warm and welcoming staff and a great drinks menu. We'll be back for sure.

Staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was tasty (I got the three course: entree, choice of main and a dessert of the day). Entrees of sushi/sashimi/battered prawn were a nice surprise, steak main was decent, and the dessert was tasty (black sesame creme brûlée was great, but I did wish the green tea ice cream had more oomph). Regardless, glad I gave this place a shot.

Authentic Japanese food at reasonable prices. The staff are polite and attentive. Service was fast with the fist dish coming out 10 minutes after order.

The raw fish is fantastic - best i have had in Auckland. I also would recommend the Tonshabu and Tenpura.

This is a relaxed establishment at reasonable prices serving great food. Enjoy!

We have tried almost every Japanese restaurant in Auckland/Waikato areas and this is by far the best! The staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and intimate, and the food never fails to impress. Best sashimi in new Zealand in my opinion!
The reviewer that gave 1 star is just looking to discredit a wonderful establishment (possibly another restaurant trying to take out the competition) do not take it to heart!
We have and will continue to come here regularly, even when we move out of town.
