Best place to stay in Taranaki. Good prices, location and facilities and different room kinds to choose from.

I stayed at Stratford Holiday Park with a large group of backpackers in July for one night. Thank goodness it was for only one night. Unfortunately that night, there was a storm that knocked the power out. The power was off from 6pm until the morning. The holiday park staff came over to our building and told us the power would be on in approximately a half hour and provided us with some 7 hour burning candles for lights. At this point, half of the group had not be able to eat as there was no power. As the hours past, there was no sign of the power nor the holiday park staff. That night, the temperature was below 0 degrees and our building was freezing, forcing us to sleep in our winter jackets and long pants. The holiday park did not provide us with any additional blankets, aside from the sheet on the beds. In the morning, we discovered that only HALF of the holiday park did not have power. The staff failed to mention how there was a working kitchen on the other side of the park - by morning, half of the group did not have dinner or breakfast. There were also hot working showers in the other building, but the owner and staff again did not offer us any further amenities. In the morning, we asked for compensation for the horrible night that we endured, but none was given. The owner refused to give us even HALF of our money back. I understand that natural occurrences such as a power outages happen. But if you run a facility such as this, you should have a back up generator, or additional blankets for every bed that they provide. The staff was rude and did not provide our group with any sympathy. I do not recommend this location to anyone. The facility might be pretty good, however the staff is horrible. If I could, I would give this 0 stars.

Wonderful camp . The owners are lovely and really making the camp a very welcoming place. Very clean and tidy. The bush walkway from the camp to town is a lovely walk also. I would definitely recommend this camp.

Kitchen facilities pretty good, although toilets and showers luck of some fornitures to make it more confortable to use.. nice warm water in shower is hard to get, cause you have to choose between boiling water or frozen, they are going under some work. A positive aspect to say, even though the reception was closed by 20:00 we could park in our motorhome and sort everything out next morning.

Nice family owned site. Close to town is Stratford (10 minute walk). Heated indoor pool and play area for children. Perfect location to explore Mount Taranaki and drive the stunning Forgotten World Highway.

What a gem! Tucked away in a nice quite setting. Stayed in a motel unit which is fresh, modern & awesome shower unit 😊Highly recommend.🖒🖒
