Good facilities and clean, great playground for children

The camp is in a good area but the facilities need some work. Cleaners should be cleaning during the middle of the day not late evening when many people use the bathroom.

I just had to write this after reading the other review. Yes, Onaero Bay is the kind of campsite where you put tokens in the shower to keep the water running. If you're not after that kind of authentic, down-to-earth, true Kiwi holiday experience, then feel free to go elsewhere!
But for laid back and low cost camping (or campervan-ing) this is an amazing location with great basic facilities. I've been here 2 different summers and always had a wonderful time
