Easily the best mechanic shops, my whole family have been going there for years and they really know how to look after you. What I love most about this place is that they take the time to explain everything to you so you know what's going on.

Paid more for the full service, said the wheels would be taken off and brakes checked. About a week afterwards heard sounds from the rear but thought nothing of it since I was under the impression that things were checked and nothing was noted. Brakes eventually went out on me and had to get them fully replaced (at another mechanic). Was hard to confirm the details of what was done on my vehicle because they don't have any of the mechanics out front talking with you, just an admin?? There are better and cheaper places in town, this place gets business out of convenience of location to offices nearby.

Forsake all others and use Sheffield Crescent Auto Centre!! Family of five arrived in CHCH four days before Christmas with blown master cylinder at 2pm to fly out to Aus at 3am next day. Tried many businesses (included AA which I am a member of) and was turned away. At 4pm I fronted up at Sheffield Crescent Auto Centre and despite being flat out they 'put the customer first'. They came up with a plan to uplift car from storage, fix and return it to storage before we came back three weeks later. Perfect solution noting we had to head out of CHCH straight away after returning from Aus. Despite saying it may take a week or so to fix they had it sorted within days. You want good old fashioned service with a capital 'S'? Then use Sheffield Crescent Auto Centre. Feel free to contact them for my number so you can call me to validate this review. Good service, very knowledgeable, but very expensive, booked in a oil change, a/c regas, ecu scan and fuel filter. Should of been $500-$600 max, ended up being $800. Avoid !

Thanks once again Sheffield Crescent I live out of town and my two daughters attend university in Christchurch, Shane makes sure everything on the car is safe before it leaves the yard. One of them has just had their car at the garage, it needed a couple of extra things than we thought but Shane went out of his way to get a reasonably priced part within our budget.

Bad experience do not go here, was recommended to go here from people at work, however the bill was crazy high, I only took it in for a service and to check radiator, somehow that turned into me needing $1200 worth of repairs. I was quoted $495 to FIX radiator, but went elsewhere and got the repairs done to a superior standard elsewhere, all other repairs were done elsewhere, not impressed, will NEVER go back. Other people from work have had same issues as well. Lost customers, as we have voted with our feet and gone elsewhere
