Secluded place for having a rest in this area. The smoked salmon bread is good. They have salmon pond in the back but no access for visitors.

Average quality in terms of freshness and taste. Expectation was higher given there is a Salmon farm at the back.

Salmon was great! This is one of the last stops on the west coast before travellers drive through the haast pass. But lady was quite unhelpful when we asked whether we could borrow their WiFi to do a quick check on whether the haast pass had reopened. WiFi was necessary as mobile reception is non existent in that area. We didn't want to risk driving 1 hour just to find out that the pass was still closed and have to u-turn.

Our coach tour arrived & the staff were friendly and helpful but looked a bit overwhelmed with the number of customers. The lines for the restrooms spilled over into the cafe & it was lucky no one was in a hurry as there weren't enough toilets. The selection of salmon dishes was nice but this is just a convenient stop over cafe on the way to somewhere else.

Food is quite expensive, but worth the visit. They do have fairly priced sandwiches.

Place is popular for observing Salmon Breeding and quick grab. A bit delayed service.
