  One of my favorite hostels by far. Staff was extremely friendly, rooms were nice, and the kitchen was excellent (I cook a lot when I backpack). The location was excellent with a tasty cafe right next door (Lotus Cafe, delicious breakfast for 9.50 NZD). It seemed very safe for a hostel and there was even a sweet climbing gym underneath. Pool and ping-pong in the lounge area, can't beat that!

  Rotorua is known for its sulfur smell - so be warned, it doesn't go away when you go inside. I would recommend staying here only to visit the local sites, but I wouldn't stay here longer than you need to.
  
  Kitchen was okay, not the cleanest, but the bathrooms and toilets were clean and there were plenty of them. Hot water was consistent.
  
  This isn't much of a party hostel since they do have quite a lot of rules and locks on doors at different times of the day. Most people staying here were very quiet and did their own thing.
  
  Front desk was quick for check in/out, but not the friendliest

  Great location. Friendly staff. Beds are extremely comfortable and facilities well maintained. I was gonna a stay for one night and ended up there for 3! Thanks for a great time in Rotorua!!!

  Loads of space!! Loved single rooms- double bed so comfortable and colour decor fabulous. Clean although a lift would be helpful when travelers are exhausted on booking in for accommodation.

  It's a nice hostal, but the environment is not that nice, it's not cosy at all .
  
  If you're looking just for somewhere to stay it's going to work for you. The kitchen facilities are great, they have everything you need.

  Loved this hostel (especially the giant windows facing onto the rock climbing gym). Security can't be beat - even if you do feel like you are entering a vault with the number of locked doors!
  
  Just a note: Rotorua is nicknamed the Sulfur City for a reason.
