After the earthquakes the only thing that is left at QE2 Park is the gymnastics school , for this it is very good.

I love going to the old QEII sport and leisure center because it's a biggest outdoor and indoor building. It's a very fun place to go and what I like doing there is playing in the hydroslides and pools and running on the outdoor stadium tracks. I really miss the old QEII so much when there was an earthquake in 2011.

There is nothing there now apart from a few sports fields since the pool and athletics complex was demolished following an earthquake. The golf course & driving range have also gone. Plans for the site include a swimming pool complex and two high schools - probably open early 2019

The tracks have been cut off due to construction but it's still a great place for a run and for sports.

Still a great short walk around well maintained fields. Great for dog walking. Always quiet and obviously has plenty of parking. The track around the park is solid enough for a good pram and there are three or four exercise stations dotted around the track. Plenty of bins for dog bags as well.
