As far as motor parks go it's expensive and it isn't good quality for money. Qbox isn't a very clean place, the fridges often smell of rotting milk and other foods the kitchen isn't clean and usually has lots of dirty dishes and old food cluttering up the place, also the showers aren't well heated so your often left cold after a shower. The cabins are okay comfortable at least could use better cleaning though.
It's ok rooms are small but warm
There are containers for bathroom and kitchen the idea is cool but there is nothing you have to bring all your staff to cook. And it's expansive to sleep in your car and you just have a space for park your car on earth not even grass
Winner of the award for worst campsite in New Zealand! Toilets and showers are filthy, sites overcrowded, entire place is covered in litter, cigarette butts and empty bottles. If you're on an absolute budget then this is the cheapest campground near queenstown. However, $50 for this site 15 minutes from town is nowhere near cheap enough when you can stay at lakeview, 5 mins from town, for $55. Best $5 we ever spent.(winter prices for a powered campsite)
Qbox has closed down please be aware from the 14/05/17
Don't mess with Maru or you will be on problems.
It's a scam. Expensive and dirty. And please don't say "that's the Queenstown rules". There is honesty as well. But in this campground we only want to earn huge amounts of money and we don't care about the customers. $170/week for 1 pers. (in june) in a powered campsite. $170 for what ? Dirty, tiny and uncomfortable showers, dirty kitchen with a collapsing fridge, expensive Wifi (how we can always pay for Wifi in 2016 ?!) extremely slow and sometimes doesn't work at all, one garden hose for water refill, mud everywhere, unbalanced terrain, sometimes up to 3 cars per campsite. Staff is pretty cool luckily and do what they can, but the owner is absolutely mingy.
Friendly staff, quality new facilities and a chilled out location. Close to town with a rural feel.
park-sleep loves this camp ground , not right in downtown Queenstown but just a short walk from the center , the camp ground is by a creek with a true Alpine feeling . A large open parking lot for campervans . Yes it is cheap we had a great deal and the guy at the desk was really helpful . .
Cheapest campground in queenstown (35$/n for a powered site) Asked for discount if we stay for 2 nights but: "No. It's the cheapest place to stay anyway.."
The owner has just changed. So no free wifi and construction in the bathrooms..
A discount would have been nice.
