If I could live in the honeymoon suite I would. What a gorgeous place. Warm, inviting, lovely staff and right in the heart of nature. What more could you want for relaxation?

Great hotel, wooden traditional build makes you feel like you are in Europe. The inside hot pool/spa with poolside service is great. In-house restaurants have great atmosphere.
Close to train, ski shops, bike rental and mountain road.

Beautiful place to stay - all wooden so It fits perfectly with the scenery.
We stayed in the non- peak season so it was very quiet, however the breakfast was still fantastic and service amazing.
Only reason It was not 5 stars is the tiling in the shower did not stop water flowing from under the shower - meaning the bathroom kept getting flooded.
Overall a great experience - would stay again!

Amazing hotel with beautiful wood interior, a stunning building, the reception staff very welcoming. Enjoyed the food & atmosphere with a lovely warm fire burning, staff at the bar very friendly and waitress service was great, I recommend lamb or duck. Bed and room so comfy & cozy but walls a bit thin. Would visit again.

One of the Best hotel in New Zealand (at least from those where i ve stayed :)). Amazing wooden interior comfy beds, kind staff. Oh and Lord of The Rings related history (you can stay the rooms where the stars stayed, and you can dance and sing on the table where Merry and Pippin danced) . The Powderkeg restaurant is great to have dinner (the lamb and a levander cr me bruele was yummy) or grab a drink (the waitresses are swift, kind and cute. Also the Matterhorn is great to have breakfast.
