Fish chowder and tuna carpacchio here is impeccable!! I would definitely recommend going here but the portions are quite large so two entrees is plenty! I thought the entrees were actually nicer than the main dishes as the fish and chips really disappointed me! The chips are basically mini roast potatoes and the fish is not the best I also wouldn't recommend the sticky pork belly as they are a bit heavy handed on the star anise and Chinese five spice!! The desserts here sounded wonderful although I had no room for any!! I would definitely recommend getting two entrees instead of a main!!

Scallop entree is superb! Would love to come back for this! Mussels entree is also great, try the wine creamy sauce. So GOOD!

This is a great open plan venue. The large tree in the front of the building makes the scene something special.
The food is not cheap. A few drinks an entree, main meal and desert will easily take you over $100 per person. Very easily.
    The seafood chowder was deilcious.
Unfortunately the pasta for my main course lacked any flavour. It was completely tasteless.
At close to $40 I would have expected better.
My pasta went back to the kitchen untouched.
The staff were attentive and friendly, but made no enquiry regarding the unbeaten pasta.

Beautiful little place that made us feel very welcomed. Love staff that can have a bit of a joke with you. Meals were amazing, some of the best food we've had to be honest. Jack our waiter topped of the experience for us. He is a credit to your restaurant.

All the food was great but the chowder and raw oysters were particularly spectacular! I've had many different types of oysters before and these were by far the largest, meatiest, and had the most flavor. Really enjoyed the staff as well! Plus free WiFi for travelers!

Been in New Zealand since April and this was by far the best meal we ve had! We just wandered in after a recommendation from our hotel. Food was amazing, massive portions and great cocktails! Fast service and staff very nice.

The oyster entree and seafood chowder to die for. Sirloin Steak really disappointing, was so tough and grizzly we couldn't eat it. Friendly staff, great ambiance by the open fire.

Pricey but very good - the mussels are the biggest and most colourful ones I've ever seen and tasted!

Very nice place for a meal. I'd eaten well elsewhere in Coromandel Town, but this was still the better meal. I had that steak fillet, which was nicely done, a good thickness, and plenty of veg and potato. Others have said the servings are large (mine was just perfect) and that the prices were high, but our meals were reasonably priced. Hopefully people aren't judging prices based on the one $50 steak meal (not mine) alone.

Drinks and coffee menus were good, but dessert menu didn't really take our fancy.

Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and all nicely lit and atmospheric. We were in a covered outdoor area, which allowed our slightly noisey toddler to be comfortable without disturbing couples having a quiet, romantic meal inside.

There are kids' menus with puzzles and colouring on the back along with crayons. High chairs available, plus a box of toys.

Service was perfectly adequate, if a bit dry. To be fair, English wasn't her first language and she did a fine job despite the lack of talk.
