Nestled in pristine location amongst NZ natural flora and fuana , Paroa Bay Winery offers a range of wines to delight the taste buds, for tasting and for sale.The sustainable wines are produced locally from grapes grown in their own vineyard. On offer are some of the best tasting wines with traditional flavours and yet daring to be different from others. My personal favourite was Sauvignon Blanc 2015, not so sweet with mild fruity flavour.

It's hard not to feel immediately enchanted the minute you drive in to Paroa Bay Winery , it's literally like leaving the hustle and bustle of life behind you and entering such calmness . The tranquility of the surrounding hills and scenery is like a living art, I can't help compare it to France. It was almost magical.
It didn't disappoint too, the Winery has vast array of bottles from award winning Sauvignon Blanc to Chardonnay, Malbec and merlot. My personal favourite is the Sauvignon 2015 which left a hint fruity melon taste , quite delightful .
Such beauty of the Winery makes a whole package for a perfect retreat . It's certainly one if not the best of its kind in New Zealand .

We drove there on Saturday and it was closed. Suggest if you're planning a trip out there (it's a bit remote) call first, even if it's during their open hours. What we saw looked interesting but couldn't go down the drive so didn't see much. Will try again one day

Paroa Bay Winery is a lovely 15 minute drive from Russell. When you arrive you'll be swept into a most tranquil environment of rolling vineyards and walkways. You can enjoy wine tasting at the cellar door and learn a great deal about the wines being produced here from the very knowledgable viticulturalist. If you don't know much about wine, fear not, they will teach you in such a way that you'll understand. Paroa Bay Winery is on its way to becoming a certified organic wine maker has already received a "Sustainable" credential.
