This is one for travellers and the family. If your driving past it's worth the stop. And it's free you can't go wrong. Spectacular view of the coast and nature's wonder from a walk through the plants of new Zealand to the rugged rocks. Also if you a hungry you can stop into a delicious cafe on the other side of the road. You can't go wrong at all.

Truly an incredible place with a lot of stunning views. It's beyond comprehension that a place of such beauty exists naturally, and only in this location. The water jets make for a great boom and bring life to the static rocks. The massive energy in the crashing waves really helps you understand just how detrimental erosion can be. I recommend you see these rocks while they're still there!!!

Was worth the detour. Very beautiful. The drive from Greymouth along the coast was also very scenic, comparable to the Great Ocean Road. The whole experience is comparable to doing the Great Ocean Road, the Twelve Apostles etc from Melbourne for a fraction of the time.

Interesting stop right off the side of the road. We were there at high tide but didn't see any real blowholes. Great views of the complex geology though.

Fantastic must see natural attraction. Wheelchair accessible in most parts thanks to fantastic path. I was last here 20 years ago and great to see how much they've improved it since then. Cafe food available, public toilets, plenty parking.

Stunning viewpoint in west-coast of New Zealand. You need to go there around 7-8am in the morning then there will be less crowd and nice morning light

Wonderful set up. Lovely bush and flax and the pathway around is perfect, let alone the stratified rocks themselves. Great time had.

The Pancake Rocks and Blowholes is a natural wonder. What they have inside is amazing, having what they provide. The rock takes the formation of a stacked pancake.
The blowholes also looks awesome, with rocks surrounding a area with the sea inside the hole.

If you like nature,history and being cold.
I recommend you going there.

However, if you don't like the ocean and big waves and wind, I suggest that you should keep in mind that there are seas and very rough waves there

The best time to go there is the sunset or sunrise. Also keep in mind that there are times when there are high tides.

In general, I think that many people should come here if you have the time..

What a great stop! The entrance to the lookout is right off the main drag and clearly marked with signage. Street parking is plentiful and free and I didn’t have any issue finding a spot. There is an i-site w/clean restrooms across from the entrance.
The loop you following to see the Rocks and lookout is a nice walk with plenty to see. It is very tourist-heavy, but thankfully, you can distance yourself from the pack if you want to enjoy your views solo. The rock formations are incredible as are the pano-ocean views! I recommend bringing binoculars if you have them because we saw dolphins in the waters past the rocks and they were clearly visible with binoculars. You can also see the formations more in-depth with binoculars as well. Definitely worth a stop or as a destination in and of itself!

Nice spot to sit and admire the rocks which are uniquely carved by the sea over the years. Small walkway giving information as you walk along.

Very impressive formations. And a beautiful full view of the coast of the weather is on your side. Most of the walk is accessible to wheelchairs, an additional loop isn't. Count 20-30 min. Info center there has free wifi, toilets and souvenirs.

Amazing place a must see. It's been a rough sea today. We went in the middle of the day during normal tide and it was good. Later on we went back at full tide and it was just amazing. It's like nature showing you it's party trick

Usually think these places are just labelled as an attraction for tourists but definitely come check it out. The rock formations are amazing and you will take a lot of panoramas here! Gets pretty windy though so bring a jacket n hold on to ya hats!
