  Very nice food. I had the salmon eggs bene which was very nice, partner had the big breakfast which he couldnt get through and thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly staff as well.

  We had Egg Bene, Mushroom on toast and Salad of the Day , food and service was fast and amazing , best coffee in Town i believe 👍🏻, scenic and spacious Building , Definitely coming back and Recommend

  Sometimes being well ranked online, can be a recipe for problems. My group had just finished a hike nearby so Googled the best ranked cafe in Whangarei. We were all eager for food and coffee, quickish stop was ideal. Alas it seems many others had the same idea and the only two(?) poor staff were smashed busy and not really set up for it. The counter didn't have much in the way of take away food (no wraps sandwhiches salads or pies) so each order had to go to the kitchen to make, who also seemed under staffed. Coffee took about 30min, food longer. It is a huge place, so just needed more staff and probably more counter food to get customers in and out quicker. I hope this is a helpful review for the owners! In my opinion more staff needed, wider counter range, and then all will be fine.

  Had a great breakfast here. Awesome sunny room at the back with a nice view overlooking laurie hall. Nice staff.

  Thank you for yummy food and nice coffee and best ever ever carrot cake. Friendly and quick service. Definitely visit Nectar Cafe next time.

  To be honest the food we got was good, however, we had someone vegan with us who didn't end up getting anything! No coming out and explaining .. just nothing! Overpriced because the advertise as organic and vegan friendly but it's not Ok! Get organised guys.. We won't be back!!

  This place has great coffee and a good vegan menu if you're into that. Some disorganisation on behalf of the staff but we eventually got our order after some mix-ups. Some don't think the cabinet food is that great but the cooked food I had was great. (Poached eggs and salmon)
  
  Came here again (29/07/2017) and again the service let this place down. We ordered coffee in a group of four and everything came out in a strange order and some orders were forgotten about.

  Nice spot in downtown Whangarei to grab a coffee and a snack. Friendly staff and large open space. Can be a little chilly near the door, but they have plenty of seating at the back.

  Went there for lunch, Really only an all day breakfast menu with a couple of extra dishes as a lunch option. Dishes were remarkably dry and could really have done with some sort of sauce (and I'm not talking about ketchup). Service was better than the last time we were in which was about a year ago. That time we waited well over half an hour for food in a very quiet restaurant. Will probably give this a wide berth in future.

  To be honest I was very tempted to go somewhere else. Straight of the bat, the staff lacked an inviting atmosphere, perhaps because my partner and I are young, appearing both rude and uninviting. I felt like it created a negative atmosphere, however, this can easily be improved if they are willing to put the effort in. The food was tasty and the portions were well worth the price. Overall an average experience which could have been much better.
