  my experience today was terrible and not acceptable!!!! we as a class just visited from whangarei as you guys was phone on thursday the 8th of june to expect us on tuesday the 13th of june we spoke to mike and he said tuesday was fine we came on the expected day and was told to not enter the garden area and that yous were closed that day. someone should have phone us or warned us with abit more polite manner instead of approuching us with a angrily attitude the customer service that we were given by a man who claimed to be the other owner of the garden behind the cafe should have been alot more professional about the situation as we were told with real aggressiveness . dont know what is happening with the place but there was no need to through that sort of attitude at us like that expecially to students who are just trying to learn would not like that type of expression thrown at any other customer just fear warning to all have a nice day and hope that this gets sorted :)

  The website says closed but sign on road says open ..so in we went
  Service was great but ..
  The table wobbled
  Tea and coffee ok ..but not asked if we wanted milk
  My mother ordered fish and chips ..lovely .. and sensible medium size..
  I ordered seared scallops .. I asked if any vegetables or salad with them .. waitress came back after asking and said "chefs salad" .. which was 2 whole small lettuce leaves , one cherry tomato cut in half and 2 single rings of onion .. suitable for a starter but not mains
  Scallops under done and cold ..Wasabi ..not really ..
  Not a whinge as other meals coming out looked terrific ..
  Setting beautiful .. music unobtrusive
  
  So can recommend just be ready to ask exactly what you are getting
  Perhaps I'm just used to salads that make up the main portion of the meal ..

  Booked the venue for some business presentations yesterday and highly recommend this lush beautiful setting for any event. Superb food, wonderfully warm service and an incredibly beautiful/tropical garden setting. Ideal wedding venue I imagine. You will not be disappointed.
