We have a year pass so my daughter and I can visit when we like. It's such a lively atmosphere and my little girl loves it.
The staff are lovely and the animals are very well loved.
Amazing displays and interesting facts about the sea creatures. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff and a well laid out aquarium. Imagine what it would be like if Government spent more money on it!
The aquarium contains many fish species not originally from New Zealand. Inside it also have dinosaur fossil stone, shell, kiwi birds & penguins.
Weekend deals is available which cost 10 dollar per adult only! Very suitable to bring kids which there are staff will educate and give explanations.
This is a great place. Lots to see, not just fish stuff. Also, take as long as you like or go around several times. All for a great price
I really like the cool art work in and outside the building. Very original! The aquarium is great. Alot for an adult ticket ($20)
A wonderful Aquarium really enjoyed our visit great location just a short walk from centre of town right on the beach. Very friendly and passionate staff who clearing enjoy their work and the creatures they have on display. Highly recommended
This is a fantastic place to see marine life that you have never seen before.
I am not a fan of creatures caged in small spaces but this aquarium has done well to balance the display of all there marine life while separating them form the wild.
The penguin rescue center was a real treat to see as all these penguins would have passed on if it was not for the help of the National Aquarium of New Zealand.
Had a great time at this aquarium. There is a good variety of species. The penguin exhibit is really cool - you can get very close to the penguins while they are swimming. The ocean tunnel is great and there are a lot of sharks and stingrays. They also have an excellent kiwi enclosure. Visiting when it first opens in the morning is worthwhile as there's fewer people and a number of feedings to watch.
