Good food, good service and a massive improvement on what this place was like a few years ago. I do feel the price on chips is a tad high compared to other stores. But overall very good shop.

Have tried to give this place a lot of go's but sadly it just doesn't deliver. The Chips are probably the best around and the selection is excellent. Extras on the menu like Curry Sauce and Gravy etc are awesome additions but don't make up for the glaring problems. First of all, the prices. I could stomach having to pay $3.50 for a scoop of chips if I didn't feel like everything else drags the place down, because the Chips are exceptional. The fish always seemed a little dry and the batter is flavourless, too oily and seems really over cooked. It's not nice and fluffy like you'd get elsewhere. The batter is bad enough that it ruins whatever it's wrapped around for both my Girlfriend and I. I don't even know how to explain why it sucks but it's basically too tough/overcooked or something. Other things like Chop Suey patties and the likes always seem burnt and over cooked which makes them less than enjoyable also.
Touching on pricing again their Blue Cod for example is the same quality level as many other places in surrounding suburbs, except it costs $10 compared to $7.5 at most other places, and is a single filet cut in half. What it boils down to is if you want Blue Cod from here, you'll be paying $20 for the exact same quality of fish as other places nearby, with overcooked hard dried out crumb or overly oily also overcooked batter that would cost you $7.50 somewhere else.
They take a ton of care and pride in the place and what they produce. You can tell. It's literally a case of the batter, the over cooking of a lot of it, combined with the jacked up prices ruins it all. A nicer fluffier batter and cooking things a tad less so they are more enjoyable and I'd probably cop the extra cost and happily make this place a 4 star review.
Oh, tried the burgers a week or two back too they weren't bad. Nothing amazing (the pattie wasn't the greatest but chow chow and beetroot being standard was awesome).
All in all, this place has a ton of potential, has awesome owners that clearly like what they do, but has a few smallish faults that just ruin the entire thing. I wish them well, but I don't think I'll be going back.response / report this review -

I am absolutely bewildered as to why this shop has as many good reviews as it does. I went to try it this shop out recently. But personally it's one of the worst Fish and Chip shops I've experienced. This shop is the most expensive shop I have ever been to. $3.50 per scoop which is small and the standard fish Elephant $3.50 has thick ugly batter. The going price at other shops is $2.60-$2.90 for standard Fish and Chips. Also I tried the Chop Suey Pattie, it was like eating PVA glue. This shop displays their pre-cooked foods and you can tell they've been sitting there for many days, and their wet fish on display look like they had gone a bit dry as they've been sitting in the open too long. Now to the food Food had a darkish soaked in colour which means the oil is on the old side and you can taste it. All in all, I had terrible experience. I won't be back I advise others to try other shops aswell, as there are nicer and alot better value shops elsewhere.

Our local Fish N Chip was closed so though we would try somewhere else. Bad Idea! These were the worst and most expensive fish n chips we have ever had. $29 for three pieces of Terakihi and a scoop of chips. We thought we we paying for fresh fish but what we got had obviously been frozen for some time and was dripping water through the whole parcel. It was tough and rubbery and quite disgusting. We don't mind paying for quality but this was far from it. We will never be back. I have put one star because you have to put at least one to post a review otherwise there would be none.

Chips are the best. Fish is the best. Phone ordering is taken with clear english which is quite novel. They have put effort into this place. There is parking. My wife and I eat here every few weeks.
