Nice short walk with superb views across the harbour! Part of this area appears to be used as farmland, so be prepared to get your shoes dirty if you explore the bunkers further up the hill
Its a hidden beauty and the small tracks I went down 33 year ago are still active and walk able. I hope the Wellington City Council and Shelly Bay developers keep this place special and accessible.
Amazing little spot few people know about.
Peaceful spot, good view, nice monument. Would recommend.
On a calm day this place has exceptional views.
The memorial itself is bg, white and well, a bit anachronistic.
A tomb and memorial to William Massey PM from 1912 to 1925. A beautiful place to visit very quiet, peaceful and a great view across Wellington harbour.
A beautiful view of Wellington harbour from an amazing monument to Prime Minister Massey and his wife. 1912 to 1925. He must have been very popular as this would have been very expensive to build and there is no other like it in the country, certainly the public would not allow a monument to one man and his wife be built today.
We walked up the path not knowing what the memorial was. Great views, and an impressive memorial. Worth the walk.
A beautiful memorial to one of New Zealand's Prime Ministers.
It also has incredible views of the surrounding areas and is a short walk away from another interesting and historical site, the now near forgotten Fort Ballance.
In fact, the mausoleum is inside of one of the fortresses gun pits that housed counter bombardment guns during the late 1800's
nice hidden spot. great for relaxing and photos. surprised it wasn't busier.
Beautiful spot to visit while crusing the bays around Miramar.
