Lone Star is one of my favourites. Large portion sizes of good hearty food. I have never been disappointed by the food or service in any Lone Star and I have been to most in the North Island now. It is like a New, more upmarket Cobb and Co. It can get busy and noisy though.

My husband and I took my cousins there tonight, at first they weren't keen because of a bad experience they had in Hamilton.
So my hubby and I were a little nervous taking them to this one, glad we did because the service was Outstanding,and food was DELICIOUS!! 5 stars to this place, I would go back again and so would my cousins they said the food and service exceeded their expectations and would go back again.

We ordered lamb shanks, which didn't have much meat on them and were not slow cooked, which means the meat was chewy and didn't taste at all. To kill any taste, they filled the plate with sauce. Changing sides was not possible, due to pre-portionized whatsoever. Staff was friendly, but I wouldn't come again.

Yummy steak dishes, cooked really well! Big portions, served reasonably fast. All the waitresses we're super friendly and welcoming especially Mikayla :) They even gave me and my partner a complementary dessert for our anniversary lol. We've been a few times and the food and service have always been good & consistent. Many thanks guys!

Lone Star do nice big portions, they really do. The Lasso of hog and the Stack of ribs are pretty much guaranteed to need a doggy bag!

Quite possibly the worst dining experience since the Green Parrott. Entree was cold, my partner asked for no mushrooms with his meal which of course came out with mushrooms and had to be remade (allergy). My meal was the stuffed chicken breast. When I pay $32 for a chicken breast I don't expect a frozen meal reheated to room temperature. When asked if our meals were ok, we advised both the waitress and the maitre' d that everything was pretty bad, neither could care less, gave us our bill and said "oh well I hope the rest of your night gets better" highly recommmed that this place goes out of business.
