  Clean, good facilities, within walking distance to shops, friendly and helpful staff. Bit noisy on road side. The hospital is opposite so when a helicopter arrives in middle of the night it can be quite loud.

  The room was spacious, the water was hot and the bubbles in the bath were very bubbly.
  
  NZ hotels have a habit of putting up signs that say something like "Stay here and enjoy free internet!" then when you actually go inside you find that the first email you download is free and then it's $500 per megabyte thereafter
  
  So it makes for a refreshing change in a country that still doesn't really embrace the online world to find a place that actually offers free, unlimited 'net use.
  
  It was everything they said it would be . . .

  Loved our stay and easy to find location on the main road into Kaikoura,very nice and understanding hosts.
