Excellent unique setting.
The tame eel's are amazing so make sure the fee to feed is paid as they really are impressive to watch slither up onto the land.
We got a round of coffee which was ok yet I'm very fussy with my tastes for over strength coffee, the platter was pretty good i thought.
Yummy yet small.
We will be back..

A quirky cafe in a lovely garden. The food and coffee are great too. The place is definitely the only one of it's kind in New Zealand and probably the world. It does get very busy at peak times, so booking is a good idea.

Possibly my favourite place to visit and eat at with my little one. Plenty for her to do, and great food. Feed the eels, watch the chickens, small playground to play in, and a few other cool activities to get into.

A great place to visit with all the family - in fact it's a MUST! The food is wonderful; the staff are graciously helpful; the toilets a sight to behold! And the play area is a real hit with kids of all ages. Locals love it.

Fantastic lunch staff and location. A nice touch is the woollen blankets that are given to the guests outside if it is cold and the mulled wine for the same reason.

Weird!! But awesome.
Don't let the random surrounds through you. These guys do good food. I only stopped by for a quick bite, but I'd love to stop by for a full meal.

Went there for a coffee late sunday morning, the staff were very friendly and the layout is really nice - lots of little areas which are perfect for catching up with friends. Theres also lots to wander around and see with the interesting artwork and tame eels.

Loved this place but there was no way to stop small children from falling into the water. Loads of un supervised kids by the water. The food was awful but I loved the eels
