On 5 December we had our Christmas Work Do at ironic Cafe, and I must compliment and thank the cafe for the great food and friendly atmosphere. What will stand out the most that evening would be the hospitality and friendliness of our two servers Lizzie and Atalya. The sparkling personalities is probably what made our evening special. Many thanks Lizzie and Atalya! The food was great too!
Was in a large group who were mostly very happy with their dishes. Good service and atmosphere. Great place for a casual night out.
Excellent meal and value, with accompaniments included rather than charging as sides. Menu options were varied and kept group happy ;)
Great food, highly recommended their eggs Benedict for breakfast or brunch. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Close to the train station, so a great place to eat before hopping on the train ride. Award winning café.
Amazing food. Nice environment. Reasonable prices. Great service. Go there. Great.
Never had a better seafood chowder! Pork sliders were tasty! Service was excellent!
Awesome place, can see why it is one ofthe best cafes in the country. Their service is excellent and menu has something for everyone. Their dinner menu is very good and the Pork Hock is incredible!! It is one the best dishes I have ever had in a restaurant!!
Ironic Cafe outstanding as ever for dinner on way through Dunedin. Fast service and beautiful food. Tasted as good as it looked.
Service was great. The coffee was some of the best I have had. The food was delicious. Highly recomend coming here. Will definitely be back.
Food was great! A little slow on service. Arrived around 10:30 without a reservation for a party of 5 and had to wait about an hour for a table. When seated had to wait another 15 minutes to get our order taken
People were nice and food was delicious.
Really good! Great friendly service and coffee!
We decided to go here (group of 4) due to all the awards this cafe had recieved, also using our entertainment book. Went for an early lunch and im assuming they have a different chef that works dinner shift because the food was certainly below standard. My dry, flavourless chicken nachos came with a free eyelash and noone else at the table was happy with their meals either. My coffee was a "specialty drink" rainbow milk latte or something, which the waiter looked at me like I was stupid when I asked her what it was. Lets just say it looked more like a 2yr olds finger painting than a rainbow. The others large coffees were what you would get as a small at any other cafe I have been to. In addition to the completely average food, and small coffees, I asked if it was possible to get guacamole with my nachos as I didnt want cheese or sour cream and the waitress said she would have to see if there was any. Obviously there wasnt because they appeared with sour cream on the side , yet two other people at the table had meals containing guacamole. Bad waitress or bad cafe im not sure
A delicious irony. A couple of friends and I had brunch and lunch at this place on a rainy Dunedin day whilst we waited for a flight home. The food was outstanding. I had the chorizo dish with poached egg on toast and later, a mushroom and potato soup. Great coffee - nice and smooth. My only suggestion for improvement would be to speed up the service which was quite slow to take our order.
There was no sign of any irony in the cafe at all. Kind of ironic really, given the name of the cafe.
Had Christmas staff lunch at ironic cafe december 2016 . Very friendly staff, great food and local beer. Very relaxed afternoon.
Wonderful as a restaurant or a café, good location great coffee and food. Great atmosphere and staff.
