Tidy units, friendly and helpful owners.
Stayed 2nights in family unit at front of complex.
Road noise was noticed, but not bad.
Walking distance to the octagon and stadium.
Like most motels, the electric jug is incredibly noisy when others are still asleep.

I had previously stayed here in 2002, and when I came back in 2008 was pleasently surprised to find new owners, who have obviously put a lot of work into making the units more tidy.
I stayed in Unit 15, which had big windows for lots of Dunedin sun. The bedding was of a high standard, and the room had a small Samsung LCD TV with a selection of Sky Channels (including movies & sport).
The kitchen was well equipped, with a microwave and even a little oven & hotplate This was a nice surprise (though I didn't require it) as many small units don't have these.
The bathroom was pretty ordinary, but sufficent to a single traveller on a short stay. If you were having a longer trip to Dunedin, you might look at something more luxerious, but for a short visit the Garden Motel is a great place with friendly owners and a good location, not too far away from the inner-city but far enough out to minimise noise.
