OK Hostel. We had a private room. Apparently the cat was sleeping on our bed, therefore we had tons of cat hair on our blanket and pillow. The private rooms are tiny and right next to the the lounge and balcony. The walls are super thin, so it's quite nosy. So 70$ seem pretty overpriced for one night.
The bath rooms are ok. Showers don't have windows, which make them quite damp.
You get free parking thats nice and its located right on main street and the ocean :)
So many rules and passive aggressive notes everywhere. Only friendly staff was when we checked in. No one is ever at the front desk. Kicked us out of the kitchen in the morning instead of waiting till people were done breakfast. There are Much better hostels in Kaikoura.
Close to town, clean rooms, comfortable beds.
Great hostel, clean rooms, hot showers, great view, big kitchen, big cosy lounge with TV and dvds and a balcony. Loved our stay here.
Solid, clean hostel. Best part was the lounge area. Staff is friendly and relaxed. Kitchen is a bit small but has enough stuff. 100 mb WiFi is free, you pay after that, but there's plenty of coffee shops nearby that have free WiFi.
A nice, well maintained hostel centrally located opposite the bus stop. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment for all your cooking needs and has a big comfy communal area too to chill in and watch a movie.
