I got in a huge acccident where the wind blew my camper van off a gravel road.A total stranger gave me a ride to Wanaka to Clearbrook Hotel. Vicky is absolutely amazing and kept trying to help me out and get a hold of the lame camper van place which I booked thru but unsurprisingly received no answer back just as I did. This place has an amazing view of the beautiful mountains of the area and partial lake view and the top floor has been upgraded and is extremely cozy. The owners are absolutely awesome. I can’t remember if it was John as the other owner of the place but I mostly dealt with Vicky who is the exact type of person I had heard about when researching New Zealand. Authentically nice which we don’t have much of here in America (especially here in the San Francisco area), helpful and altruistic. I would recommend anyone to stay here 10 out of 10 times if you’re ever out in Wanaka. People as genuine and helpful as Vicky (and I believe John) are hard to find in 99% of the other places in the world.

The hotel is in very close proximity to the Wanaka main street. Very Convenient. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The downside is that when we arrived, we were given a three bed apartment, and cleary booked a 4 bed apartment. The first room with the 3 beds was bright airy and clean. the room we were moved to had a smell in it that was intolerable. Due to the motel being booked out, the changes couldn't be made.

Clear Brook is located in the heart of Wanaka, about an hour drive from Queenstown. The spacious one bedroom unit we stayed in came with a well equipped kitchenette, washing machine, dryer, a considerable sized bathroom (which you don't see often) and a very helpful host. Our stay overall was just perfect! Wish we stayed longer. We are definitely going back.

Also, I left my wallet while checking out. Thank you for ensuring that it gets delivered to me at our next stay while still in New Zealand. Really appreciate it.

Self-contained rooms and apartments with Kitchenette with Dish Washer. It also had a washing machine and dryer. All are good for travelers and tourists on a long holiday in NZ. Quite town with a supermarket and many quaint shops for all your other needs.

The self contained apartments are just what you need after a day of skiing. They are neat clean and well maintained with good facilities. They are close to shops and have great views of the surrounding mountains.
