We stayed there in a tentsite. Beautiful setting right next to the lake, friendly and helpful staff, lots of space for tents. Decent kitchen, showers are a bit dated and not always very clean but ok. Laundry is a bit expensive. But it's a nice place to stay, the views are stunning and you can rent bikes or borrow a fishing rod!
Beautiful spot. Clean cabins. Nice staff
No Wi-Fi, showers a bit slow and no utensils in the shared kitchen.
this is a well maintained campsite and only a few kms out of Wanaka, where there is a wonderful pizza place called Francesca's, great for lunch and dinner . The campsite it self is massive, will fill to the brim in summer, lovely and quiet in winter. We loved the well maintained old 1950's playground, could not help ourselves from going down the slippery dip! LOTS of walk here and lake views incredible
Nice views. Affordable accommodations
Just an absolutely lovely place to stay with amazing, friendly staff that are only too happy to help. If you are visiting the south I recommend staying here instead of Wanaka. The scenery is just stunning and swimming areas are something special.
The best campsite I've been to in NZ! Definitely will return. Good price, great service, clean, lots of space, quite and AMAZING views!
Would never book again.
There was a line to check in, so after waiting 20mins it was finally our turn to be served when the woman at reception told us we have to wait because she needs to serve the children who had just shown up who were buying candy.
We finally manage to check in only to find the linen that we booked and paid for was not in our room. Fortunately a young female staff member came by soon after to check and happily went off to get our linen. She was the only staff member I saw smile the entire time I was there.
We booked a cabin over the phone. At no point we were told we needed our own kitchenware. The communal kitchen was small, dirty and had almost no usable kitchenware. Absolutely no cutlery. We managed to share a pan with another group and cooked everything else on the bbq, a nice couple lent us their tongs so we could cook effectively. Reception staff took a blasé attitude to our concerns that there was nothing to use in the kitchen.
The cabin bunks and the single bed were so old and really were only suitable for children. After discovering the heater mounted on the wall did not work I informed reception who told me "I'm wrong, it does work". She made a big show of going back to the cabin and then admitted that in fact-no the heater on the wall does not work and we must use the oil heater. That would have been manageable had the oil heater not required electricity. There was only two power points in the room. One which was used by the fridge and the other we had to take it in turns charging our phones, cameras and everything else we needed.
Even with it being busy season, services, facilities and staff were not up to par.
The host at the office were super nice to us and really helped us out with directions. View is absolutely stunning. Just what we needed!
