Went here several times. Last time we were going here with our dog for the exterior, and a waiter came running with a reserve sign and put on the available table when we were sitting, turned her back and went back inside. No word, no hello, nothing! Thank you very much! As our money is not welcome here, we will gladly go to another place. This is how you lose a regular client permanently Poor service.

Mid last week: great coffee, lovely staff!
Sunday just gone: great coffee, stressed out waitstaff, duty manager not interested if you've had an enjoyable experience. Felt rushed and unwanted. Not the local institution I'd been reading about.
Food (eggs benedict, mushroom bruschetta) was only ok, I'm guessing you're paying that much due to location of the cafe.

A great place for lunch on a sunny Christchurch day. The food is great but I was a little let down by the berry smoothie that lacked any strong flavour.

Good food.
However, the worse customer service I've experienced in awhile.
Ended up getting our drinks after our meals, and when our berry smoothies came out they were over flowing which the waitress spilt on my partners pants. Which means, now we have to buy new ones, as red stains don't come out. So, Thanks for the good food. That now will cost us more money to pay for your clumsy staff.response / report this review -

This place is great for a delicious breakfast of pancake or a yummy lunch in the sun, however the dinner menu is very expensive however you do get a completely different dining experience at dinner time it is geared more towards fine dining which is reasonable. The platters are really yummy and a great addition to a friend catchup
