Breakfast was nice. I forgot my shoes and called them when I reached chitwan. They said they would keep hold it till I got back.super friendly staff. Even the security guards were always smiling and alert 24/7.
Everything was amazing, very modern, lovely hotel, comfortable, warm, friendly, with good SPA. Next time will stay in Royal Penguin Boutique Hotel & Spa only:)
Clean and comfortable. really nice to enjoy some time in Kathmandu after the dirt of a trek. Decoration is a bit special but quite funny. Staff is very nice and helpful!response / report this review -

The website is more exciting than the hotel itself. Maybe it was because it's low season when we are there and there were hardly any other customers, but we really felt we didn't get the service we should have for this price. The room was great though. Very comfortable and big bed. Amazing and hot shower (although the water is yellow) and a big tv for relaxing.
The restaurant staff was grumpy and hardly spoke any English. She was playing loud hip-hop music and repeated her favourite songs. The food was so so. We've had much better food for lesser money elsewhere in Thamel.
We had a massage, which was good. The sauna and steam room were nice. They also offer a hairdressing service. I thought this was a great opportunity to get a good hair cut, since it's supposed to be a luxury hotel and the price was very high for Nepali standards. But the hair cut was done extremely bad. It's crooked and there are plucks of hair she just missed. I had to cut some of it myself afterwards. When we mentioned this at the reception, their response was that it's very quiete lately and the hair dresser must have lost her practice.
All in all, we expected more from our stay. We usually don't stay at these expensive hotels, so this was supposed to be treat. The stars I did give are for the comfortable room, the crazy and funny interior and the lovely doormen.response / report this review -

Let’s start with the positive: Great room. Really. Among the best I’ve seen. Helpful staff, also very good. We stayed here for 1 night to treat ourself to some more luxurious stay then we are used to. So we got a massage at the spa. Massage was good, sauna also good. But my girlfriend got a haircut, which was kind of expensive for local prices. And that was very bad. Big chunks of hair where missing when she checked back at the room. When we said so at the reception the manager replied: “Maybe they are not in the best form because it’s low season and don’t do a lot of haircuts.” How is that an excuse?! They didn’t even try to make up for it. The restaurant is not very good either. Big menu, lot of products or dishes out of stock. The choice of music in the (empty) restaurant when we where eating there was very loud hip hop. And to be honest, the waitress seemed like she didn’t really like her job. All and all not what I expected when paying over 50 dollars for just the room. The third star is for the doorman who carried our bags like Superman and was always saluting when we left. Loved those guys!

Top notch service, clean rooms and great food. It is located right in the heart of Thamel, among many tourist shops and nice restaurants.

Rooms are nice and quirky. Very creative room design, but price a bit too high. Breakfast is good. Staffs are only moderately helpful. Bathwater is yellowish as same in all Kathmandu but tap water for brushing teeth is clear.
