Cheap but you get what you pay for
Not clean at all, very loud area, but the hospitality is very genuine and you can feel that the staff do want to make your stay comfortable. It's just too bad the hotel itself is, lack of better words, disgusting.
Stains on floor, walls, sheets, pillows, it's just not worth saving money because it doesn't have a good value return. I highly suggest dishing out a bit more in order to get a hotel that's better managed in terms of cleanliness and "homey".
Again, The staff were great, and if they took the staff and placed them into a 5 star hotel setting you would get a great combo. But most other hotels are like that around Thamel so pay some more money to get a cleaner nicer hotel that doesn't make you want to sleep with all your clothes on and then wanting to get checked by the doctor to see if you got some kind of skin disease after.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean, simple breakfast included, and showers are hot most of the times. It is also possible to leave stuff in their locker if going trekking or elsewhere and planning to come back.
Basically everything you need.

+The location is perfect for Thamel stayers!
+The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
+The room was bigger than the average that you would get in Kathmandu in the comparable price range.

-The WiFi was a disaster! The staff meant the problem was temporary, however we had not stayed any longer than 2 days to verify their claim.
-The power/electricity load-shedding situation was not very pleasant, although it should be similar for entire Kathmandu, unless the hotel has its own generator, which was not unfortunately the case.

Clean and friendly place, in the middle of Thamel..
The manager Laxman Aryal is an awesome person, accomodates most of your requests :)
They also have an inhouse travels, which offers budget travel options

Location is great, quite hotel with clean rooms. All basic amenities are available though they can renew the bed linen and add a heater during winter. The breakfast was good and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also we've made money exchange at the hotel and the rate was the best in kathmandu.
They have a nice roof with beatiful mountain view 😍😍.
Recommended.

This is nice place with a low budget. Havi nice roof top to sit in sun. Room are veriy spacious but the furniture are outdated. Staff needs a special traing of hospitality.

Kathmandu Madhuban Guest House is quite It is located Near Thamel a popular tourist hub. The rooms are large, clean and have all the basic amenities. The breakfast is really awesome. I'll definitely stay here if I come back to Kathmandu.
