I've stated here twice now for a few business trips
Great little hotel. Easy to find and centrally located. Wonderfully kind and accommodating staff. Nice roof top restaurant. Showers are hot, strong internet, cheap laundry, and pretty clean. The bathrooms always have little gnats flying around but other than that, good!response / report this review -

Perfect when you are looking for a clean and cheap place when travelling in Nepal. Located in a heart od Kathmandu gives you a tons of opportunities to just leave the hostel and walk around. They do have cheap laundry service, which I have not used. Also, rooftop bar is available! All in all recommended!

If I am privileged to return, I would stay here again! Kind and helpful staff, comfortable and clean beds, gear storage, and reliable wifi are a few of the reasons that I'd recommend this place for travelers needing a home base in Kathmandu. Thamel nightlife can be loud (no matter where you stay) so consider calling ahead to see if they can offer you a room on the side of the building away from the street. I've had both sides, and even on the street it quiets down after 10:30p - so, either way you'll have a nice stay!

Fantastic stay!
On the three occasions I have had the pleasure staying at bag packers, I have not been disappointed.
The manager *Krishna* goes above & beyond good service as does his staff.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Very good place at a good location at reasonable price. My mother liked here very much. Hot shower, clean and friendly staff. Breakfast and all day dining on the roof top where you can view the Thamel area. 1kg laundry for $1. (same day). Can be little too noisy at night but I was too tired to be awake.

Center location, clean and wide room. Roof top garden restaurant with good food. friendly staff. surrounded by shops, travel agency, restaurant bar and supermarket, easy access to go anywhere Kathmandu valley. Value for money.

I stayed at Bag Packers for 4 nights after returning from a trek.
I found the location to be really convenient and pretty quiet for Thamel.
The rooms are a nice size, the water hot and the breakfast tasty and served on the nice relaxing rooftop.
The staff, especially Krishna, are really friendly and helpful and I won't hesitate to stay there again.

Comfortable environment. $1000 rupees a night i was charged. Hot water. Good wifi. Laundry service. Convienantly located within Thamel. Only downside is the electricity cute off automatically at certain times during the day&night to conserve.

Simple but newly renovated rooms. Good for budgeted bag packers and local travellers. If you are looking budget per night less than US4 20 per night with simple breakfast, can be a choice. In few steps, restaurants and bars for food and drinks.
