  I loved my stay at Chandra Ban! The garden, house and views are so beautiful and it makes for a very relaxing base to explore Kathmandu from. The delicious food (the best I had in Nepal) coupled with Luca and Camilla who are fantastic hosts makes for a magical place to stay in whilst visiting Kathmandu. I can't reccomend it highly enough! 10/10

  This is the most exceptional place I have ever seen in Nepal and my only regret was having to leave.
  
  Chandra Ban is called a retreat, a B&B and an "eco resort" on the internet. None of these names do it justice but they all suggest something; it has the warmth of a family-run B&B (it's run by an Anglo-Italian family); it has the peace, quiet and greenery of a retreat and it has everything you need like at a resort but without all the noise, the kitcsh and the crowds.
  
  The best way to describe Chandra Ban is as a luxurious boutique hotel, for people who love nature, Tibet and the arts. The owner was a Tibetan monk for many years and is now a collector of Tibetan artworks and furniture. The house resembles a stately home in that it is full of these artefacts, and yet it also has mod cons like kettles, TVs and showers in each room.
  
  The house is located on a steep hillside and the surrounding land has been transformed into an exquisite garden with huge amounts of flowers, trees and sculptures hidden in among the greenery.
  
  It stands high above the smog-filled city of Kathmandu, one of the most polluted cities in the world. This is the ideal base for exploring Nepal; from here you can pop into the capital or leave your stuff and head for the hills.
  
  The people working here are all really friendly and helpful, and the food superb. The only downside is the huge St. Bernard dog which some guests might find a bit intimidating, as he tends to growl and bark at new visitors even though he is an extremely affectionate beast. So dog haters should probably avoid the place.

  Chandra Ban is a beautiful oasis of calm in the Kathmandu Valley. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind and conveniently located for access to the city. The staff looked after us very well, offering tips and organising transport for day trips. The rooms are full of comfort and character, all uniquely decorated with beautiful Tibetan furniture. I will definitely be back to this wonderful place. Highly recommended.
