I stayed at Thon Hotel Sørlandet for a conference in September 2016. The hotel is located very close to a large shopping mall (Sørlandssenteret), and is also walking distance to the zoo. This makes it a practical option for anyone who is bringing children or who needs to do some shopping. We stayed in a double room, with a queen size bed for us and our daughter slept in a bunk bed. The room was clean and the staff was helpful whenever we needed something. The conference room was a little cold and drafty, but otherwise fine. Breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of bread, cheeses, eggs bacon etc. The view was not particularly nice, and only overlooked the parking lot and highway.

It is OK. Not so huge rooms, feels little old and breakfast and dinner is ok
